I am finally tying out comments on my entries. This might be the first time I've done so in the history of this blog... in fact, I do believe it is. Back when I first started blogging on a free site, there wasn't an option for comments. But now I'm wondering if I had them enabled for a while when I used Greymatter? Hum... anyway, for a long time I've not had them on here, and now I do, so comment away people! :) I ended up using the free Haloscan service because it was easy and took only a few minutes total to get going whereas the other option I was originally going to go with took way too much effort and then I realized it was going to require even more and I didn't feel like it. Simple as that. So, we'll se how this way goes. By the way, comments are only available while entries are on the front page. Might change that later, but for now that's what I'm going with. Also, the tagboard is still there to the right, but if the comments go well I might get rid of it. Comment beta phase then, you could call this.

Now I'm going to go try and salvage my day as much of it was spent working on the alternative comment solution that I decided not to use. Figures. lol

Sometimes my computer agitates me. Occasionally every computer has a little glitch, no matter how well you may take care of it, but this one's been having the same issue since I pulled it out of the box a little over a year ago. It randomly has systems failures when I do one of the following things: try to view folder contents on a DVD+R, put a CD of any type in the drive, or eject a CD. How in the filp does that cause my computer to shut itself down and give me the BSOD?! After much, much searching, I found out a while back that a bunch of HPs have this driver on them they don't need, and that's what the problem was. So HP had a little fix thing for it, and that worked... for a while. Now yesterday or the day before my computer suddenly went BSOD on me again, so I checked the driver, and it was now put back to enabled (HP's "removal" thing never removed the driver, just set it to disabled). Totally confused. Anyway, last night I put it back to disabled, and even set another portion of it as disabled hoping that my computer wouldn't suddenly decide not to start after that. Re-boot went fine. But today I'm ripping some of my CDs to my computer for putting on my MP3 player, I eject one, and BSOD! Head/desk. Why computer, why? In looking at the other hidden drivers, I discovered one has a warning on it... is this my new problem? Well, if the BSOD appears to me again, I'll write down the error this time (just assumed it was the same as always, though it may not have been, but nothing showed up in the Event Viewer... so confused).

Note: For those that may not know, BSOD stands for Blue Screen Of Death. Heh, I thought that was funny the first time I saw it.

You wanna hear something funny? All I had to do to get the playlists on the new MP3 player to transfer over properly was to upgrade my software. lol Oops. There I go making things more difficult than they really are once again. I used to do that a lot on math tests. I'd rarely get one of the more complicated equasions wrong, but I'd often mess up on the simpler ones because I would over-complicate them and go crazy with forumulas I didn't need to use.

Mom and I went to the library after church today and got a little zealous in the movie section. I think we got eight different movies that all have to be returned within one week. We can so do it. I picked out this one I'd never heard of before that I hope will be very funny. Also got some I'd been thinking about renting from the store, but hadn't, and this way is much better since it's free to borrow from the library. Yay for libraries! And, by chance as I was about to go check out my items, I saw Capricorn One on VHS and grabbed it. Like 9 to 5, which I finally saw recently, this was a movie my mom had told me about and we'd written on a list of ones I needed to see eventually. Anyway, this is an older sci-fi related flick about a manned mission to Mars which becomes un-manned. Basically, there was a problem with the shuttle so at the last minute the astronauts were secretly pulled off, it went into space un-manned, and they broadcast a fake landing and other things from a set. It was an interesting movie, and the whole cover-up thing was a good plot, but it was a little slow moving along with other flaws associated with its age. So, not one I'll go spouting off recommendations for, but I'm glad I finally saw it. Oh yeah, and it has a certain bad person it playing one of the characters and it was weird to watch him on there. I didn't feel any sympathy for his character.

Okay, third post for today. I just had to post because I feel so darn accomplished. First, praise God because I totally couldn't have figured this out with Him! Always big love to God. Anyway... when I read the reviews on the Insignia Pilot I did notice a few of them where people said they couldn't get the playlists to work. I just figured maybe they didn't know what they were doing or something. Anyway, I tried to get a playlist in WMP over, and nothing happened. Thus began the online research. Seems like a lot of people are having trouble with this and it's agitating that it's so difficult to get it to work. Anyway, found a site talking about .M3U playlist files and the product manual mentions something about them, too, so I looked into that. WMP can save playlists in that format, so I did that and attempted to transfer it onto the device. It got on there, but nothing was showing up under the playlists. Then, after some tinkering, I got the title of the playlist to show up, but when you selected it, nothing would play. More research, followed by more research. To shorten my story, I had to tell my computer to think of the player as a storage drive and do some rewriting on the m3u that WMP spit out... multiple times. First it would only play the first track on the playlist and not list anything else. Then I got it to list and play all but the last one. Added a carriage return at the bottom and bam baby! Played it all!

All in all, that's a lot of steps just to get a dang playlist on the thing, but I actually really like the player otherwise. For instance, on my iPod mini, you can only shuffle all songs, you can't just shuffle songs by a certain artist or a playlist (not that I ever figured out anyway), and on this I can. Oh, I am so funny... I just paused and grabbed my iPod to fiddle with it and see if I could shuffle the playlists, etc., and low and behold, you can. I'm hilarious. I'd still like to stay away from iTunes though. Hum... can you load songs on an iPod via WMP? Well, a quick google search reveals that you can with a plugin for $20 (but you'd still need iTunes for any firmware updates). Nope. Not going to go that route. Well, I have 28 more days to decide if I'm truly happy with this player.

][ 11:59 PM

Hello again. It's been a while since I've posted multiple entries in one day, so here I am. :) Updates, updates.

Vacuums are dangerous. It all seemed to be going fine, and I was actually almost done, when I accidently backed it over my toe... and it hurt. I looked down and noticed something didn't seem right, so turned off the vacuum and inspected it closer. My poor, poor big toe. I ripped a good chunk of the nail and it was bleeding. Thankfully, however, it wasn't really bleeding very badly and ceased hurting fairly quick, meaning all I did was rip the nail and nothing more. Whew. Still not going to be fun, but it could have been worse, as my mother knows. I just couldn't stand to be so outdone by her any longer, had to do something. lmao ;) I'm just praying it doesn't get infected or anything like that, and all will be fine, I'm sure.

I was going to go out and play archery after I was done with vacuuming since I didn't get to yesterday (was thinking about it, but decided weapons are probably like machinery in that you should not opperate them while drowsy, lol). Mom said I shouldn't though because it might make my toe hurt (she was convinced it was in shock and would soon become very painful, but I obviously didn't hurt mine as bad as she hurt her's), so I sat for a bit. But my toe didn't really hurt at all, so I decided I'd shoot, even if it made me regret it later. Toe's fine, but my archery skill is severely lacking. *sigh* Suppose that can't be helped when I haven't shot for months due to all the rain and cold of fall/winter. My best round was 32 of 60, so not real great, but I've done a lot worse before, too. I think I may have been standing too far from the target, too, so I may move a little closer my next chance to play and see how that goes.

So far, I think I like my new MP3 player. I'm not going to make it definiate yet, because that would be asking for trouble. Transfered a couple songs though, and that was easy peasy and they sounded great. I even like one of the pre-loaded songs on the player ("The Joke" by Lifehouse), which surprised me to no end. Think I'll delete the other stuff though. Heh. The nice thing was I didn't have to install anything off of the CD that came with it, not even drivers. Just plugged it in and Win Media recognized it right away, no problems with that. So, we'll see how it goes. Now I'm putting more of my CDs onto my computer so they can then go on the player. Listening to some older pop now, stuff that I'd forgotten about but is pretty good. Good thing I got the 8 GB one instead of the cheaper 4 GB one they were clearancing out; I'll need the space.

][ 9:00 PM

Before I go into writing about what I've been up to, I've just got to write about the shark attack that happened yesterday in California. Of course it saddens me that someone has died suddenly, and my prayers go out to the man's family and friends, and I hope that he knew God and has gone to be with Him in Heaven. However, people are over sensationalizing the whole thing, as they almost always do. There is a new article on MSN today with the headline "Beaches closed as helicopters search for shark." *rolls eyes* They are wasting time, money, and resources searching for one shark out of thousands. And if they should find it, will they kill it and then proclaim to people that the beaches are safe again? Jaws is a FICTIONAL movie here folks. Sharks do not go hunting specific beaches looking for humans to kill.

Everyone needs to be made aware that the ocean is a habitat, not our playground (this is paraphrased from a scientist that appeared on one of Discovery Channel's Shark Week shows a few years ago). Likewise, people need to learn that sharks are not mindless killing machines. They are amazing creatures. Yes, they are also predators, but so are thousands of other species of animals on land and in sea. They have a specific function in the ocean, and it is not our right to go killing them all because we want to play in the water. Be informed. Do not swim in the twilight hours; visibility is low then and it is much easier for a shark to mistake you as one of it's favored food items (which we are not--c'mon, we're FAR too boney compared to a nice blubbery seal). Don't swim anywhere near a beach that has seals, sealions, etc. (refer to previous parenthetical). And just be aware that billions of creatures live in the water you want to go play in; and they are suited for that environment, whereas we are not and are extremely clumsy in it.

Could it be considered ironic, that while I was out yesterday I bought a book on sharks and rays, thinking on how interesting I find them and considering it a great resource to have? Oh, and FYI, I don't plan to swim in the ocean again unless I'm in a cage with the specific intent to see sharks in the wild. Yes, I know I'm crazy.

I got hardly any sleep the night before last. I was up late reading and discovering a few more of the five million fears I probably have associated with writing. At least, so far as I'm hearing from most quarters, that's "normal" for writers, so I'm not alone. Anyway, it was probably around four in the morning when I finally fell asleep. Then, at about 8:30, the phone rang, and I was awake. *sigh* I had been thinking of accompanying my mom to work so I could go out shopping out that way and save some gas. So, I got up and got ready. I went to Best Buy and bought this MP3 player, which was on sale for a very good price. The reviews were pretty good (checked them since it's an off-brand I'd never heard of bfore), and they have a 30-day return policy so I figured I'd get it and try it out and could return it if I didn't like it. I've learned from the Zune incident: buy from a store so you can return the item if you don't like it. lol

I spent most of my time waiting for my mom to be finished working at Barnes & Noble in the Bargin Books section. I recently "discovered" that area and have found it to be a great place for resource-style books. Well, what I would consider resources as a writer, anyway. Along with the aforementioned book on sharks and rays, I also purchased a book about grey wolves. Humm... both beautiful animals that are being killed by man for stupid reasons, and both that are unjustly feared. *shakes head* Save the wolves and sharks!

Even after a nice, sugary Icee, I began to become very tired on the drive home yesterday. I was still awake, but was totally useless for the remainder of the day. I even considered going to sleep around eight o'clock! Gasp. I didn't though. lol Instead, about a half and hour after that mom and I decided to watch Princess Diaries 2, which I ended up staying awake for. Then I decided to go to bed, without even trying out my new MP3 player! Gasp, again. Okay, so I listened to one of the pre-loaded songs just to hear how it sounded, but I didn't even hook it up to my computer or anything (actually, still haven't gotten to that yet). So, I got into bed and then got out of bed a few minutes later to grab a notebook and pen.

At some point earlier in the evening, I'd begun to think of a new story idea and I made the mistake (which I keep repeating) of thinking about it as I tried to fall asleep. There are two main reasons what that's a bad idea: a) it keeps my mind cranking away, thus keeping me awake and b) I get a really good idea or snippet of some lines that I have to write down. So, I started to write down the idea. Almost two hours later I finished. Apparently the time when it's easiest for me to write is the time when I ought to be going to sleep. Head/desk. Why can't I write earlier in the day instead of being amazingly efficient at wasting time then? *sigh*

Not much to write about from the rest of the week. Stayed home the whole time with the exception of Wednesday evening when Emily and I went to dinner at the pub. She got a Lemon Drop--which I had considered getting on my birthday, but decided against because it was $10 and I probably would only have a sip and not drink anymore--so I asked if I could try it. She let me have a sip and WOAH. I was not made for drinking alcohol! It tasted freaky strong to me and I felt it in my sinuses the moment it hit my tounge. Drank a good cup of water immediately to try and get the taste down. Emily thought it was fine, simply more tart than she would have preferred. No more alcohol for Holly. It's not like I got drunk off the one sip or anything, I just can't stand the taste of any of that stuff I've tried! lol

America is truly destitute; a country filled with pain and sadness, and all because of this: we do not have Lay's Ketchup chips. They are REALLY good! lol So, how did I get them if they don't have them here in the states? Why, the lovely Sam sent them with my b-day presents. :D Just another point to how awesome Canada is. *nods* I'm totally serious, because I am Canadian by descent on one side of the family. I've heard too many people around here knock Canada, but Canada's awesome! But yes, returning to the original topic, as a girl who loves ketchup on a variety of foods, when Sam mentioned these chips to me one day, I told her she had to send me some at some point so I could try them. Now I'll have to see if I can import them or something. ;) lmao They are really good though.

My other thing to note is this: the Twilight Guy. Ran's got me sucked enough into the whole Twilight realm that I've been checking the lexicon regularly for updates relating to the filming of the movie, etc., and the Twilight Guy link was on there today. I find it quite amusing, actually, especially the two little video clips. On a serious note though, I think guys could learn a good deal about the workings of a girl's mind by reading Twilight. It's not a carbon copy of every girl's mind or anything like that, but I could definitely relate to a number of Bella's internal thoughts/struggles, and I doubt I'm the only one. That is quite possibly a good part of why the book is so popular. It ought to be amusing to read this particular guy's reactions to it.

I received my first jury summons yesterday. Woo. (As in, not-woo.) I'm thankful that's the first one I've gotten though, as it could have happened sooner. So, in June I may have to go and perform my duty as a juror. I say may because the last two times my mom's received notifications she was told she didn't need to go to either of them when she responded. I don't understand how it works, but I'd be fine if that happened for me. lol Plus, depending on what the case is, I may be able to opt-out this time around. I'd rather not be involved with anything that's going to give me nightmares, you know? So yes, we'll see as the time draws nearer.

Yesterday I spent a few hours in the further cleaning of my room. Honestly, it was never as messy as all this cleaning may make it sound. Rather, I'm just doing a very thorough cleaning and trying to get rid of a lot of un-needed things, etc. Yesterday was the junk under my bed. I may have mentioned previously that I bought one of those long plastic containers for under the bed storage, but it was just a little too high to fit. Well, my dad ordered some bed risers for me, so I put those under my bed. Didn't take too long, but it's always fun to move the matress off and put it back on, etc. Holy cow, though, I did not think the risers were going to be so tall. I figured like an inch or two (which was all I needed/wanted) but they're like six inches high. No lie, my bed is now level with my desk. lmao It's weird. And, come to find, when I re-organized the stuff under my bed, I don't need the plastic container and actually don't need the risers either. *shakes head at self* I was so sure I'd need the space that I didn't bother to mess with anything until I had all these things to "fix" it. *sigh* So, I'll leave the risers there for now (partly because I don't want to deal with removing them just yet) and see how it is. Pretty sure I don't like my bed that high though. But, the risers weren't expensive, and maybe my parents could use them.

I make one lanyard today (and a smaller one at that) and end up with TWO blisters! How is that? *rolls eyes* Thus far they're not inhibiting me much, but now both my poor little pinkys are sad. Crafts can be dangerous.

I've happy news to follow the above bit. I have written quite a bit the past few days. Well, definitely more than nothing anyway, and more than I've written in quite a while. I keep procrastinating it until the few hours before I go to sleep, but God keeps giving me nudges around then and I end up with pages of notes. Last night I was thinking of skipping (which part of me is again tonight as well), but decided I shouldn't and that I'd write just half a page of notes or something, so that I could at least say that I wrote. Stopped at three and a half, got ready for bed and was laying there with the lights out when the solution to a plot problem came. Bang! I had to get up out of bed and write it down. Then I went back to bed and turned off the lights and made the mistake of thinking about the story some more when I had to get up a second time to write down more! lol Ended up with seven pages after that, then finally worked on falling asleep. ;) Praise God! I am so incredibly thankful to Him because I truly believe He's the one getting me to accomplish all of this. Hopefully He'll keep nudging me to write more and more and maybe I'll stop procrastinating through the whole day at some point, too! Haha. Can't complain too much about that though because I'm actually getting writing done and enjoying it and I don't really need to get up before 2 PM, though it would likely be looked upon better if I did. ;)

Good news! 9 to 5 didn't skip or have a glitch at all when mom and I watched it this evening. Woo hoo! Ages ago my mom and I had been talking about something and she brought up this movie and I said I'd never seen it. So, I finally remembered about it recently and requested it from the library. I'm quite glad I did, too, because it was pretty dang funny, although rather predictable. I got some good laughs out of it though, that's for sure.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I've decided to give up TCGs. Yup. I've been thinking about it off and on for a little while, but it was more recently that I finally made my decision on it. I've been thinking a lot lately about different things in my life, priorities, and use of time. TCGs are fun, but I think giving 'em up was the way to go for me right now. I'm still working on the whole use of time thing and the priorities, but I'm starting to make what I believe are good changes, or so I'm hoping and praying anyway. :) Of course, some people might say that me spending a few hours Sunday making a Twilight-themed wallpaper featuring Robert Pattinson as Edward is not a good use of my time, but I disagree. It's important to be creative and have fun. Therefore I needed to do it. And now I have a pretty picture on my desktop. My logic is infallible. (Please note my humorous tone here at the end.) :p

Major bummer. I checked out a couple of DVDs from the library yesterday and today I attempted to watch the first of the two, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It went well at first. Played quite a while before the myraid scratches began to take effect. The first few weren't super horrible, but then the movie became simply unwatchable. How does a disc get that scratched? Are people using them for frisbees, or are they all falling out of their cases whenever they're dropped into a return bin? *sigh* The disc for 9 to 5 looks much better, so hopefully it will play fine when mom and I watch that one.

Mom and I went and saw Terry Fator perform tonight. He was amazing! Not only can he sing and do impressions extremely well, but he can do them without moving his lips. lol Crazy stuff, I tell you! If he comes to a city near you, I highly recommend going. I laughed a lot and was thoroughly entertained the entire time. His show is really amazing, and I'm really glad that mom had us buy tickets as soon as we found out he was going to be up here.

Beforehand, we were going to get dinner, but our first choice was closed. So, we walked a ways, and the second choice was closed. Yeah, figures. There was a restaraunt/brewery place right there though, so we just went in there. They didn't even ask me for my ID. Does that mean I'm starting to look more like I'm over 21, or are they just extremely neglectful in their duties? I'm inclined to believe the latter. It took a little while for the food to come, but they had really good lemonade. I was surprised. The food was okay.

After that we went straight to the Hall and there were quite a few people lined up to get in. The place wasn't sold out, but it was pretty full, so I'd call it a good turn-out. The opening act had some humorous moments, but overall was far too lude and, while there weren't many, there were some kids in the audience. I just hope and pray it went over their heads. I did have to laugh at some of the jokes though. It could not be helped. Overall a lovely evening.

Yesterday I was flipping through the channels for something to watch while I had a snack and I settled on a show on the Travel Channel about vacations that will pay for themselves. Did you know there's a public diamond mine in Arkansas that only charges $5 admission and you get to keep whatever you find? Nice. Yeah, so not everyone finds a hunkin' rock, but there are lots of little ones and it'd be a great story to tell people. There's also places to look for other gems and gold as well. I wrote them down on a list. :D The whole thing got me itchin' to go on an adventure.

I successfully wrote a page of notes on the story I'm attempting to focus mainly on last night. I'm quite happy with the notes as well, and am of a mind to continue and write some notes on other parts today. I'm thinking of doing it now, but am presently battling the fears against me doing so. I'm beginning to come to the realization that I don't so much have writer's block as many, irrational, fears concerned with my writing. They may be irrational, and part of me may be painfully aware of such, but that does not lessen their control over me, nor their ability to hinder me in my work and play with words.

I have managed to identify some of the fears over the past year or so, but I'm sure there are more, and I'm not quite sure of the causes of them all. What I do know is that I cannot recall having these fears until more recent years. How did that happen? I used to get struck with an idea and just barrel out the story. Now, though ideas are there, if I do even mange to get myself to start writing, it becomes very difficult very fast, as if I have to push it out. I think it must be attibuted to becoming more critical of myself and believing far too many lies fed to me by society. How do I fight these? I'm praying God will help me, and I think there is a little improvement just these past few days. I must also be careful not to belittle the improvement when it does not come as quickly or fully as I might hope. Any is good and patience is a virtue. Getting it out there makes me feel a bit better.

Most of my time the past few days has been spent reading the Twilight books, as I've already mentioned. I finished Eclipse today, and I have to say that, of the three so far, I like the first the best. Actually, part of me wishes I'd just stopped reading there. *sigh* Only part though, because if I'd stopped there, I would have missed out on some good stuff. I guess what bugs me about the second and third is all the Jacob stuff. I don't like that. Some of the werewolf stuff is kind of cool, but that character just bugs me, and Bella's reactions to him often bug me as well. Edward is the perfect guy! (You know, minus the whole vampire thing.) He's gentlemanly, old-fashioned, gorgeous, has beautiful handwriting, and is just plain wonderful!
Gah, I can't stand the whole love-triangle thing.
I'm still going to get the fourth book when it comes out, and I'll go see the movie because, well: Robert Pattinson. (Duh!) Plus, I did really like the first book, which, as far as I know, is what the movie is based upon, so that should hopefully be pretty good, though of course they're changing some stuff around. I just wish my two favorite lines would be in the movie, but sadly I doubt the screenwriter or director of the film thought they were as fabulously hilarious as I did. :)

Now I've got time to do other things while I dream of them coming to a town closer to me to film some other scene. It's very wishful thinking, but, there it is.

P.S. Sam's birthday was yesterday! Happy Birthday Sam!!!!

Monday, April 7, 2008

I had a very nice birthday yesterday. Got up, went to church, had an ice cream cone for lunch. ;) Then, mom and I went and saw Nim's Island, which was cute. Had some down-time after that and before dinner which I filled with TV-watching, and then it was off to the pub with mom and dad. Kenny met us there too, so it was a birthday/job acceptance celebration since Kenny just got hired for the job that was first on his list. He might be able to get my discounts. ;) lol But, of course, I'm happy for him not just because of that.

We didn't have to wait too long for a seat, which was nice. Took a little while for the food, but we were all chatting so it wasn't terrible. Sadly, they got my order wrong. lol The item I picked normally comes with horseraddish on it (which I've never had before), so, as I did the last time, I asked that they leave that part off. Well, they didn't, and now I know what that stuff tastes like. It's a WEIRD taste, if you ask me. Reminds me of the smell of an alkaline battery or something like that. Actually, I cannot comprehend why anyone would want to eat that stuff. Blech. Anyway, they re-made it and it was much better without the horseraddish! lol And they ended up making that part of the meal free, which was nice. The waitress was not on her game though and got a number of things wrong and was not attentive to us as she was flirting with some guy instead. *rolls eyes* We did managed to flag her down to bring us dessert menus finally though, and got brownies with Irish cream. So now my cousins will be proud of me, I had alcohol. lol It wasn't much, just a bit on the top, but it tasted very strong to me and I did not like it. The brownie part was good though, so I pushed all the cream I could off and just ate the chocolate-y stuff. :D

We made it home just in time for mom and I to watch the second part of Sense and Sensibility on PBS. Definitely not as good as Pride and Prejudice, or Persuasion, in my opinion. Though, to be fair, this is a new version that's supposedly a bit of a radical adaptation, so maybe the other version is better? Don't know. I'll stick with the 'P' ones though, I think. ;)

Then it was on to continuing reading New Moon, though I didn't finish it last night. Decided I was getting tired, so I put it down before I read so far as to get sucked in to the "I have to finish this now" stage. Finished it this afternoon after I got home from running errands though, and now I'm on to Eclipse, which Ran has informed me is her favorite of the three, so it must be good. ;) Don't think I'll get too far tonight, but I ought to be finished with it by Wednesday, I imagine. *sigh* I wish they'd come film closer to me so I could go check out the set and see what it's like. Doesn't seem too likely, though if they do, I'm sure Ran will call me. ;)

Wee! Tomorrow's my birthday! :D

On Thursday I drove out to Target for one specific purpose: to buy the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer. Yeah, books from Target; I know, it wigged me out, too. But, they had them for a decent price and I had Target gift cards, so there you go. ;) Anyway, Ran's been hyping them up to me and they sounded interesting so I was like, okay, I'll get them. Then she kept mentioning it and I was feeling more of a pull from the books to go and buy them, so that's why the impromptu run to Target on Thursday.

I started reading late that evening and the book was pretty good. Then I got to the bottom of page 83... and laughed for a good minute or two at the second to last line. I couldn't even keep reading anything after that, it was so funny. And, mind you, it was the middle of the night, so I had to majorly stifle my laughter. Anyway, I finally calmed enough to read the next line, which happened to be the very last on that page, and immediately busted a gut once more. Hilarious. I read 40 more pages or so after that before calling it a night.

Yesterday it took me a while to get started reading again. Mom and I went out for lunch and to run some errands. So it was mid- to late-afternoon by the time I finally started reading. I then read for most of the day and finished the book around 2:30 this morning. What do you know, right at my normal bedtime. ;) Anyway, I liked it quite a bit, so it's good that I bought the other two books when I was at the store buying the first one (figured I could return them later if I really didn't like the first book). They're filming the first movie here in the Northwest, too, but as of yet not close enough for me to drive to. If only Ran lived closer, I know she'd jump in the car and I go with me. lol I must admit, though, it seems rather doubtful I'd ever really try to go to a spot they were filming, even if I did have someone to go with me. I'd just feel too... silly, is maybe the word. Or foolish. Like they'd actually let me on or even near the set! lmao

I'm funny. I keep changing my mind and not being able to make decisions well lately. So, after just putting up the new byhol.com the other day, I've taken it down today. See, funny. In that sardonic sort of way. So what will I do with it now? Don't know. May not end up doing anything with it. Like the name, but not really sure what I'd use it for. I don't do so many things online with websites and whatnot as I used to, so it's kind of different now. Hard to explain since I'm not even understanding it yet myself.

Aside from those cruel, cruel Narnia related jokes yesterday, I made it through April Fools without pranks. Very nice. Though perhaps I did sort of pull one over on myself in that I thought a story idea I'd written down was lost and spent much time looking for it, thinking I hadn't put it with the other scribbles for that story, when all that time it was with the other stuff, as it should have been. If ony I'd checked there first, but for some reason I was remembering it different and thinking it had to be somewhere else. Odd, odd. But, the important thing was that I found it and it's not lost! :D Whew.

Today I meant to do a number of things, but didn't really. Maybe all that productivity in getting things marked off my list the last few days is spent? There's still a little time left where I could do something, but chances are I'll either spend it surfing online or watching TV. I think I need to "unplug" myself for a day or two soon and re-charge, and perhaps that would help with a number of things. Other people say it does wonders for them.

So, instead of doing the stuff I had planned, I invited Emily over for pizza and she brought Castle in the Sky since she just got it recently and has not seen it before. That in itself is humorous because I'm not into anime (though I like a few things, such as this movie), and she's HUGE into it. She didn't enjoy it a whole lot because we watched it in English and she's used to watching it in Japanese with subtitles turned on. I prefer it in English. ;) Anyway, I think it's a very cute story, and it's very sci-fi and rather reminds me of the story of Atlantis, so I suppose that's largely why I like it. That, and, in comparison to other animes I've chanced to see, it does not require large amounts of knowledge on Japanese cultural references, which I know little to nothing about. When I saw Spirited Away, I thought it looked lovely, but it confused me greatly and even after having another friend who was into anime explain a bunch of things, it still confused me. lol No, I think for my part I shall just stick with Castle in the Sky and memories of watching Sailor Moon before school when I was younger. ;) (Side Note: When I mentioned Sailor Moon, it also reminded me of watching Sonic the Hedgehog, which I just found on Amazon! :D Can someone say "birthday money?" lol)

I hate April Fools jokes. Especially these few, all pertaining to the Narnia books/movies: here [Apr. 2 Edit: links were changed to those fake articles, so I've updated to the link that has all three listed.]. I had forgotten that we'd already come to this day. Why can't it just be the happy first day of a lovely month? No, people must pull pranks and play jokes on others. There's such a thing as taking it too far people. That last that I linked I consider to be especially cruel. That would essentially be the single worst thing that could happen to the lovely Narnia movies. That site scared the crap out of me for a good five minutes until I realized it's now, just barely, the first of April. Apparently I'm gullible.
