This site really began long ago, shortly after I first got the internet and started to learn HTML. I had a one-page site filled with animated GIFs and other silly things, then branched off into a four to five page site, also filled with silly little things. I bought my first domain (raspberry-rain.net) in 2000 and proceeded to make it into a more indepth personal site (meaning more pages, less animated GIFs). I started a blog a month or two later upon the purchase of my fifth domain (sourlemonade.com). As time went by, I moved my personal site to 4606.net, and then some time later moved my blog to that domain as well. In 2007 I began thinking about getting rid of some domains, as I have done many times since I got my first one, and choose to move 4606.net here to hol-ly.com (a domain I'd had for quite a while, but hadn't really done anything with). So here it is.
Why hol-ly.com?
Well, obviously the non-hyphenated version is already taken. Heh. So, it is my name broken down into its two syllables, and it also works in that I go by Hol online (and to some people offline, too) and the 'ly' is sort of a last-minute add-on. It's kind of funny. But the reason I went with my name is because I really like my name; and the plant which is my namesake. I didn't used to like my name, but I've really grown into it and it suits me.
