A boy I had a huge crush on in 4th and 5th grade is seriously hurt. I'm trying not to cry. Apparently he was serving in Iraq (I had no clue, it's been a long time since I've seen him), and an improvised explosive device went off on the driver's side of the humvee he was riding in. The driver was killed instantly and the gunner was thrown off the vehicle, but has no life-threatening injuries. This is a direct quote now of what happened to James (the boy).

"[James] sustained major injuries including a broken ankle, broken foot bones, lacerations on his legs, a fractured pelvis, spinal fractures, broken bones in his wrist, several broken fingers and perforated ear drums. He also sustained fractures in his eye sockets."

It didn't seem so bad until it got to fractured pelvis, and then everything went seriously downhill as I read on. The article says he's already had two surgeries and that there is another scheduled for December 6th to repair his eye sockets. I'm asking for quick prayers from those of you who are believers that all his surgeries go well and he heals up. There's an address to write to him at the hospital they've got him at in Maryland right now, so I'm going to try to manage to write something, though I don't know what to say really. It just sounds so horrible. I may post about other things later. I just needed to share this.

So you may recall that I was sick on Tuesday, but thought I was feeling better on Thursday. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Friday I was feeling iffy, but had to go to work. Curtis closed for me though, so I got to come home early which was quite nice. Saturday when I got up, I did not feel good still, so I called Curtis to see if he would work for me. He said okay, which turned out to be really good since I had a 102.5 F fever a few hours later. Wee haw. (Note: That was not actually an enthusiastic "wee haw.") it went down to 101.5 by the time my parents got back home from running around. It was gone by the end of the night too, which was good, but it 'twas not fun. Nope, nope. So, I called people to cover for me on Sunday since my mom said I couldn't work the next day if I'd had a fever the day before. I had a little fun finding someone to cover, and then had to call my boss to let her know that they might be short handed. I felt a tad agitated when I talked to her because I said I'd had a fever (this was Sunday that I actually talked to her), and she didn't really seem concerned at all. Like, no "hope you feel better" and she was saying that she didn't have the schedule in front of her and wanted me to look up who was and was not scheduled, etc. I'm thinking, "I'm sick!" lol Oh well. Anyway, doing better. Still have a cough and a bit of a sore throat with nose junk, but other than that I feel pretty good. Hoping to be all better by tomorrow or the next day. Especially since I'm going to see the Boys at JBB 8 on Sunday! lol Gotta feel better for that! As long as I don't sit here at the computer too long, I should be okay. ;)

So, not much else besides being sick. I've been in my pajamas since Friday night and on the couch or in my bed. lol At least I had previously asked for Monday-Wednesday off as it's the last three days of NaNoWriMo. However, I've officially already "lost" at 21K words. I shall still mark it as an accomplishment though because that's a friggin' lot of words and the most I've ever written of a single story! lol And, I shall eventually finish the story, just not by tomorrow at midnight. ;) I've got Thursday off too, and then Saturday and Sunday for the concert. I may or may not work just on Friday. All this time off sounds quite nice to me right now though. :D

*yawns* All righty, I shall be off now. I should go and drink more fluids and eat some veggies or my mommy will come and yell at me. Hehe. Oh, she tucked me into bed Saturday night. :) I asked her too. It was quite nice. Yeah, you may think it's silly and childish, but I was sick and it was happy. So there! Anyway, ta ta!

Guess who is feeling rather bored at the moment. Could it be the very girl who posed the question? I tell you true, it is! Hence the pattern of speech which she has now adopted. Hark! Do my ears tell me people might be leaving now? Could it be so? Company is nice, but this girl has become accustomed to the lack of a crowd. It would please me much for people to leave now and the DVD player to be free for me to use. People have been here for eight and a half hours. People who are far older than myself, with the exception of one, who did talk to me a bit. I guess I'm just not used to this sort of thing anymore. Either that or it's because my throat is insanely dry and nothing has been able to relieve my parch, or it could be the other various sick-like symptoms which have befallen me all day thus far. I feel like I've been awake for two days. lol

Earlier I did get some work done on a new domain I got a while back. That was good. Got some link buttons made for it and a few more pages setup. Still tons and tons left to do though. I was also going to convert some of my fanlistings to a new script, but I'm not finding myself so motivated to do that at the moment. I've a feeling it will involve problems which will have to be solved which may cause me unwanted stress/anger at the moment. It could be best left for another day. Speaking of fanlistings though, I think I have decided to pass on a few more to other people and shrink my collection down a bit more. If anyone reading this is interested in the fanlistings for either "Shining Star" and/or "Yes I Will" by the Backstreet Boys, drop me an e-mail and let me know. I'm also probably passing on the archery one, though I'm not sure if anyone who may read this would be interested in that. Drop me a line if you are though. :) Maybe I'll try and find something else to do now.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Or, at least, to everyone who celebrates it today. ;) Belated to my friends in Canada. :) I've snuck away from the few guests that are already here to my room with my kitties and my computer. lol My mommy told me I was allowed to. My Aunt and Uncle who just moved up to Washington recently are the only ones here so far. Our neighbors and their daughter will be coming over in an hour or two, and my step-brother will be here in three to four hours once he gets off of work. It's kind of crazy because we haven't had anyone over for Thanksgiving in quite a few years. lol The closest person to my age, though, will be my step-bro, so it's probably not going to be incredibly interesting for me. Should be nice though. I shall re-join the group when more people arrive, I'm sure. In other news for today, it's that season where my bloody noses become more frequent, so I woke up with one this morning. I get them more than the average person all year round, but it gets especially worse during the cold months of the year, which otherwise are my favorite ones. lol I shall not gross you all out with any further details on it. ;)

I was sick Tuesday morning. I had quite the bad headache, the chills, and my tummy was a bit queasy. No one would cover for me at work. Grr. One of the other closers is gone to California, and the other one said they had a huge project for school to do and so they couldn't work an extra one hour even though I wasn't feeling good at all. Blarg. At least I felt better by the time I did have to work. It ended up being a much longer day than normal though because there was a special showing for the Girl Scout troops of the area earlier in the day, I had to build the movie, and then I had to work a regular shift and close in the evening. Oy. I'm feeling pretty much all better except that now my throat is really dry, and my head starts feeling pressure for a bit every once in a while through the day.

Yesterday my mom and I went down to the theater and I ran through Yours, Mine & Ours since we started that last night. It got horrible reviews, but it was funny and cute. I would call it decent. If that's the kind of movie you want to watch, you won't feel as though you've wasted money on it. I also had to work last night even though I was supposed to have the day off because Brian J. forgot to write down that he was going to be out of state for the holiday weekend and I had to cover for him. I should have today off, but there's a slight possibility that they may call me in at the last minute to work. My mom told me I'm allowed to say 'no,' but it's hard for me to do. I just need to learn to be a bit ruthless in that area or something.

I can't really remember anything else to write about. Oh wait, except that Ran is going to JBB with Tammy, and myself! :D *dances* Ran told me that on Tuesday when I wasn't feeling good, so that sort of made my day. lol And, I guess a friend of Tammy's from school is going to take the fourth ticket. For a while I was hoping to try for better seats, but the ones we've got are pretty decent, and it will be less expensive, so this really works out great. Plus, it'll be rather like old times with Ran coming along. Yay! That was so happy a thing to hear! Anyway, off I go now. Hope you all have a happy holiday! :)

DUDE! Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe friggin' ROCKED MY SOCKS OFF!!!!

As you may have guessed, I went to the screening for that today, and man, it was SOOOO good! I've only been home for a few minutes and here I am already coming to tell you all that you've got to go see it first chance you get! Man, HP was slightly disappointing, but this movie was so amzingly awesome! It makes the Christmas movie season, I tell you. I don't care what other movies are also coming out in the next few weeks, this is the BEST one!

I just finished reading the book about a week ago. I wanted to make sure it was all fresh in my mind, and I'm glad that it was. :) There are some differences in the movie from the book, and some of them are quite obvious, but it did not hurt the story at all. Nothing was butchered as in HP! All the important things remained the same, including the children getting their weapons, etc., from Father Christmas! Oh yay! And the ending... oh yay! So much happy!

Whew... I just looked up William Moseley (aka Peter) on IMDB because I kept thinking through the whole movie how hot he was even though he's got to be way younger than me, right? Well, hey, it's not too horrible because it says he's only two years younger than I am. :D lol He is very fine looking though, especially with that sword. Seriously, if I ever met a man in real life with a sword... I'd have to go for him. You know, as long as he was a good guy. Swords rule!! And, Lucy gets a dagger, which is awesome, and Susan gets a bow and arrows, which I already have. Edmund has himself a lovely sword too, and he's just valiant as ever during the battle! Go Edmund! Ah, so many lovely moments in the movie, that I just can't write them all!

And the animals... oh my gosh, they look SOOO cool! And Mr. Tumnus! Ooh... must find out who plays him! *goes back to window with IMDB open* Humm... it says the actor who played him (James McAvoy) was in Wimbledon, which I saw, but I can't remember seeing him in it. He is a quite fetching Mr. Tumnus though. And man, when you watch the movie, look at the way he walks as a fawn! It looks so killer, and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how they did that! *hugs movie* You rock movie!!!! Man, I hope I can find some killer stills to make a layout for here.

So yes, that is what I have done thus far today. You must all go see Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe when it comes out! It will boggle your mind people! And Peter is hot! :P lmao I can't help it, he's got a sword, and the accent... Oh yes, and when you sit down and the trailers are over and the movie is beginning and there are bommer planes, no worries, you ARE in the correct theater. I really like how they started the movie off. It was a good addition to make. :)

Yesterday mom and I went out to lunch and went shopping. I did not buy too much, really. Just a few small things and I managed to get my dad a present for his upcoming birthday with mom's help, so that was quite productive. :) I'm currently contemplating spending about $150 on a digital voice recorder. I would use it for my writing, so it could potentially be a good investment. Why not buy a cheaper one? Because this one's a Sony, which I like, and I can put the files from this one onto my computer, etc. I'm still contemplating and awaiting God's opinion. :) My mom and I got lots of stuff for the Christmas presents we're making for family members this year though, and it should be quite a lot of fun with crafts over the next few weeks. ;)

Nothing else too fancy going on. Pretty much just regular stuff. I do need to write a lot more though, I was catching up, but now I am falling farther behind again. *sigh* Perhaps I will manage to get a good portion of writing accomplished today. Next week is starting to look interesting in a way that could be quite bad for my noveling adventures. Man, gotta find me a wardrobe though. ;) But then again, they say you'll only get into Narnia when you're not looking for it. :)

Work is never really fun, you know? But a lot of times, provided you don't have a completely suck job, it's pretty decent and you don't mind being there so much. Yesterday was not one of those days. All was well in the morning, though I'll mention a few more things about it later, but work went wrong pretty quick.

Tammy was scheduled to work at four. 4:15 rolled around and she still wasn't there. I figured that meant she wasn't coming, but gave her a call anyway to see. I got her voice mail and left a message. I thought yesterday that she'd probably asked for the day off because I was pretty sure that was the last night of the play she was helping out with, but she still should have double checked the schedule since our boss makes mistakes with days off sometimes. She called me just a bit ago and confirmed that she was doing the play, hadn't checked the schedule, and said that she felt bad because it was her responsibility to check and she didn't. I told her to just not do it again. I mean, we survived okay, but we could have used that one extra person so it would have been good if she'd have found someone to cover for her, etc. Oh well. I started the movie five minutes late, but it wasn't too bad. Here's the part where it got worse, though.

After the first show started and all the people were in watching the movie, I went to get food. When I got back Brian J. and Matt P. left to get food. And I mean, as soon as I walked in the door, they walked out. No biggie, that's how it goes when it's dinner break time. However, time passed and it was suddenly getting close to the end of the movie and they were not back yet. I tried calling Brian's cell phone, but he didn't answer, and I didn't bother to leave a message, hoping that they were on their way back and just hadn't heard the phone ring or something. The movie ended though, and they still were not back! I was really starting to get upset. There were a few people left in the lobby once everyone else had left, and I asked them if they were waiting for anyone. They said no, so I politely asked if they could chat outside so I could start cleaning. They were all real nice about it and left. Brian and Matt STILL weren't back! I checked the whole theater to make sure no one was left inside but me, then I started to pick up the trash in the auditorium. I got a few rows done, started to cry, and then called my mommy to vent to her. Yay for mommy listening to me vent and be upset! It was probably because of a certain "thing" that started today that I was crying, but either way I had dang good reason to be upset! They KNEW when they needed to be back by. They have no excuse for that. The movie ended five minutes later than normal, but they should have been back even a bit before that. So, I was talking to my mommy and picking up trash when I hear someone banging on the front doors. I figured it was a customer who had probably forgotten something since Brian had a key, and no one else should have been coming. I wasn't going to open the door while I was all alone though, and there were tears streaming down my face, too. My mom agreed that I shouldn't open the door and I just kept hoping that the guys would get back and they could let the person in when they came inside.

A while later, the person was still knocking, and I was still cleaning and talking to my mom when I got an incoming call. Guess who it was? Brian J.! I had somewhat stilled myself from crying for a moment, but I rather yelled at him saying something like, "you know the movie's over and I'm here cleaning all by MYSELF?!" Man, he acted like he didn't know and said, "oh? Really?" I swear, I could almost believe they did it on purpose. I suppose I don't really think that they did, but honestly I would not put it past them. I swear, all the guys at my work are pretty much against me now. Oh, they generally act decently toward me and are nice sometimes, but other times... I think they'll be quite happy when I turn in my resignation, which won't be tomorrow, but will probably be in the next month or two, possibly the next few weeks. Everything is just starting to reach a point, and it's not like I want to work at the theatre for the rest of my life, so it's getting time for something different, perhaps something with medical benefits so that I could go to the doctor if I ever ended up needing to do so.

Anyway, I told my mom good-bye when I was almost done picking up trash, then finished up getting the rest of the stuff. Then, I was walking back up to the lobby and the vehicle I had noticed sitting there early when someone was banging on the door was still sitting there. No one was standing by the doors though, so I went to the sink and splashed my face with water and wiped off my tear stains. Then I was coming out from behind the counter and the lady was back standing in front of the door. She was one of the ones I asked to leave who had been real nice about it, you know? I walked right over to the door and was about to open it when the guys finally showed up and were opening the other door and she walked over to them even though I was just about to open the other door for her. She comes in, looks at me and goes, "can I talk to you?" in an all pissed-off tone. I was like, "yes." She just blew up right away! She was like, "I've been standing here banging on the door, my son left something in the theatre, it would have only taken you a minute to come open the door, don't you even tell me you couldn't hear me!" Yeah, I'm going to respond well when you start yelling at me right away, especially when I was already upset at having been abandoned by my co-workers and left to get things done all on my own. I initially tried to stay calm and be nice and I said, "I'm sorry." She turned to Brian (serves him right for being late) and yelled asking who was in charge. He sort of looked at me and I stood there with a look on my face that said, "you're yelling at her lady." I was starting to get some attitude at that point. Then she yells, "I want to know- who's the owner here now?!" And then the attitude came out when I said told her my boss's name and that she could e-mail her at the following address. She's all like, "what's her phone number?" I said, "uhh... and walked toward the ticket booth to grab a sheet of paper, but she goes running into the auditorium to get what her kid left or whatever. I was like, fine, and was starting to get quite upset again, so as I ran up the stairs I asked Brian to give her our boss's number, and I started crying pretty much the second I got into the projector room to start re-threading the movie. And, you know, the only thing I found in the theatre besides trash was a stupid McDonald's toy. You know, I feel bad for the kid that he left it there, but it's not my fault, I was all alone, and I was trying to do my job. That lady had no right to yell at me like she did. Be a little agitated, yes, pissed like I'd commited a serious offense, NO. *rolls eyes* I thought of a lot of things I wished I'd have said to her, but alas, I did not. I can't really post them here either as they all included one swear word or another. It's good that I didn't cuss at her, but man, sometimes I just wish that I could! So, yeah, that made my day even better!

I wish I could have cussed at Brian and Matt too. I thought of a few choice words while I was cleaning. You know, there's a reason that one of my parents comes down to close with me and gets there before the end of the movie, and it's not to help me clean, though they usually do. It's so that it's safer for me. It's bad enough that my boss doesn't give a shit about my safety (she said she'd never close alone, but she expects me to), but it doesn't help when your co-workers don't either. A-holes. Every other job I worked at, my co-workers would walk me to my car late at night after we'd finished closing. They cared about my safety. But the guys that I work with now are all too stupid and ignorant to think that anything could possibly happen. Which is stupid considering the theatre's been tagged, we find beer and alcohol in the theatre after shows every few weeks, and one of them found a backpack filled with crack a few months ago! Obviously, we don't work in a corner of heaven, here. Ain't no way in hell I'm leting something happen to me because they don't give a shit.

I didn't talk to either of them for the rest of the night except a few words. For a minute, I thought Matt was going to try and say that I wasn't helping them get ready enough. He goes, "Holly, can you watch the popcorn so that I can help Brian clean in there?" It looks so innocent when read, but the way he said it almost sounded like they thought I was making them do everything. My mom said I should have, but I was too good of a worker to do that because we had even less time to do things since they were late. I threaded the projector, cleaned the bathrooms, and got other things ready on top of picking up all the big trash in the auditorium all by myself and being yelled at by a psycho lady. I did my fair share!

I had to wash my face again, then I just sat in the ticket booth waiting for customers to show up. The guys just talked to each other. Neither of them said they were sorry to me for getting back over ten minutes after everyone was gone. The first customers that came were very nice though and they were joking and made me laugh, so that helped immensely. Then the rest of the few customers who came to that show were also all very nice. I started the movie, counted down, and called in the totals, then came back downstairs and said they could leave whenever they wanted. They did. They left right then, still without apologizing to me. I think Brian sort of said sorry when he called me on the phone, but both of them ought to have apologized to my face for that. Pish, they didn't even wipe down the counter while I was counting the money, etc. They just sat there and continued talking. Man, I really should tell my boss they did that, but I doubt they'd be talked to about it since my boss seems to be even less confrontational than I am. They'd probably hate me more, too, if they did get a talking to, but I don't really give a shit anymore. They can hate me as much as they please. I'm SUPPOSED to be the manager, but when I remind them to do things, they don't. One Brian J. in particular. I swear, he's got to be on his cell phone talking to his girlfriend every time he closes and then he forgets all sorts of stuff. He can talk to her when he's FINISHED. He's supposed to be working, dangit!

I really did feel much better once the movie had been going for a bit though, and I feel pretty fine now, though I still feel I have the right to be upset that they did that. On the up side of things though, Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is screening this week and I've already RSVPed for it, so wee haw for that!

The stuff I mentioned from earlier in the day was mainly that I was tired in the morning from lack of sleep, and also that I finally mentioned to my pastor that I've been sort of thinking about starting up a college group at our church and inviting the other churches in the area to participate as well since there's only a few other college aged people at my church besides me. That's the sort of thing your pastor is supposed to be excited about, you know? A new ministry opportunity and all. I asked him to pray about it and what he thought of the possibility and he really seemed like it was not something he was interested in. He told me to make sure none of the other churches around had one, which was okay because there's one I'm not sure about, but fairly sure they don't have one or I probably would have heard about it from someone, but he just exzuded (sp?) that he wasn't interested in having our church start that, and especially not me as the one to get it going. That's the feeling I got from him. And you know, I'm not totally surprised. He's a decent enough person, but him and a lot of people at our church can come off very snobby at times. I'll probably just forget it. You know, if he doesn't care about the spiritual health of myself and the other people my age who don't fit in anywhere else, why the hey should I? *rolls eyes*

I must be off now. I shall shortly have to go to work. At least I don't work with either of the two from yesterday, so that helps since it's all a little too fresh for me to be totally fine with working with them again. I just gotta think happy things... hanging out with my mommy Wednesday, writing my novel, Narnia screening, Backstreet Boys going to be in my state again so soon, Thanksgiving, Christmas... lots of GOOD things. :)

Ugh... I ate too many chocolate chip cookies today! *holds tummy* I'm not quite sick from them, but oh, I ate too many! lol I have a feeling the scale will not tell me happy things next time I meed with it. *sigh* Curse you cookies! *shakes fist at cookies on kitchen counter* Curse you!! No, wait... curse thou!!!!!!

Yes, I realize I'm crazy. I'm going to blame it on NaNoWriMo, though. ;) They say it does weird things to you... That is messes with your mind. *eerie music plays* Oh yes. Speaking of the novel... I'm just over 12,000 words right now. I'm hoping to get a major wave of flow again and reach 15K before bed. We'll see how it goes. I'm also hoping that I'll be up to the recommended word count by the end of the weekend. This is definately more than I've ever written before though, that's for sure. I wonder how Sam's doing with her word count? It says in her profile, but she may not have updated it, so I really can't be sure right now. Another short entry. Off I go to novel, or procrastinate noveling. One of the two! :P

][ 10:16 PM

This is, yet again, one of those times where it's technically Thursday, but I've not gone to bed yet, so I'm going to write like it's still Wednesday. Okay? OKAY! So, what had Wednesday had to say for itself? Well, I went to see the performance of "Urine Town" that Tammy's helping out with. I expected it to be far more humorous than it was, but there were some quite entertaining parts. Didn't really get to talk to Tammy since she kind of skipped out with one of her drama buddies and I wasn't going to wait around to see if she'd come back. Oh well. Instead, I came home and made chocolate chip cookies. Why? That's the awesome new for today.

Before I left for the play, I was typing, trying to hit my goal for today in my effort to catch up for NaNoWriMo. What was my goal? 10K by the end of today. What did I have just before I left? 10,155!!!! Oh yeah baby! I'm still "behind," but I'm working my way up! Watch out now! lol That's all I have to report for now. Night night!

Apparently, after I left the theatre on Friday night, they ended up having to stop the movie and call the cops because of those stupid kids launching roofing/fencing staples around the theatre. *shakes head* STUPID kids!!! Anyway, I learned this when I got in to work on Saturday. I guess the guys also found some of the things embeded into our screen on Saturday too. Then, of course, guys being the way they are, my co-workers had to experiment with the "launchers" they found to see how far they could send the staples. *rolls eyes* I was getting rather agitated. Whatever. At lease, aside from the guys, there was no more launching of pointed items, so that made my life easier/happier. :)

Yesterday went pretty decent at work too. Some rather interesting things happened though. First, I'll start with the not-so-interesting, though wonderful fact that I got a lot of stuff accomplished up in the office! Wee me! lol There's still a bit left to do, but some things are much more organized with some of the stuff that I handle. Yay! :) I did that mostly during the first show. The second show, Tammy came to watch the movie with a new friend of her's who's in the play at the college. She came in and she had this pierce stud above her lip. You know, the Marilyn M. beauty mark thing? I was like, that's just one of those magnetic ones, right? Nope. She got it pierced yesterday morning. *shakes head* Okay. lol Following that news, Tammy told me when the performance days/times are for the play so I could decide which one for her to reserve a seat for me. That's when something rather odd happened.

Tammy asked me how many tickets I wanted. I thought for a moment, then replied, "just one I guess. I don't know who I'd take with me." Then, the GUYS were all like, "Holly, you should take a boy!" I'm like, "What boy?" lmao I mean, I expect that comment from Tammy, but not from the guys I work with. It was odd. lol Then Brian J. goes, "what about the guy you're crushing on?" And I said, "You mean the one who's a celebrity and doesn't even know I'm alive?" lmao Watch me be witty at the spur of the moment. Oh yeah baby! Haha! Then, though, I got sort of scared because Brian said something like, "why don't you take Brian K.? He knows you're alive." Inside I was like, "WHAT?!" I tried to play it cool though and just responded that he wouldn't want to go with me, and he lives far away now anyway. It then spiraled into why I didn't invite a Backstreet Boy to go with me followed by Tammy's response which was if Brian J. got their e-mails, then I would. lol But yeah, I'm sort of wondering now if Brian J. knows that I previously asked Brian K. out, or if that was just a random person for him to mention. I considered asking him why he said that, but then decided just to let it be. It was quite, quite odd though.

I recall there was at least one other interesting thing that happened yesterday at work, but I can't remember exactly what it was at the moment. *sigh* I'm thinking about getting a little digital voice recorder to carry around with me all the time. Mostly it will be for story ideas, etc., but it would probably be great for remembering what to write here as well. ;) lol Of course, I had to set my sights on a rather pricy Sony one. Figures. lol Sony makes high quality stuff though, and... well, it's cute looking. lmao All right, I'm off for now. Ta!

The power went out this morning between the time my mom said goodbye and the time my alarm was set for. So, I slept like an extra two hours than I had intended. Oh well, didn't really snag any plans. I got up, took my time getting ready, then went down to work to break down Corpse Bride. I then had fun in traffic (*sings* "We're stuck in traffic!!" lol) taking the movie print back to the depot. Wee haw. At least the weather wasn't too horrible and I got back safe and okay. :) I got to go straight to work though.

After the first show started, I went and got a deluxe baked potato from Arby's, and picked up something for Matt E. as well. I got back, and each time I was going to start eating, either someone would come out to buy candy and popcorn, or, though only one time, the power went out! While the movie was going. lol It was only off for a few seconds though. I ended up running upstairs and had to tweak a few things before I could hit the resume button, but then it started up just fine. The customers only missed maybe a minute of the movie, so no big deal. THEN, I got to eat. ;) lol

After the second show was going for a bit, some girls came out with handfulls of these, like, roofing staples or something (they were U shaped with sharp tips) that some other kids in the theatre had been THROWING!! I mean, popcorn is one thing, and we don't like it when that's being thrown at people, but these things were freakin' dangerous! I knew the middle schoolers (generally speaking) were annoying ideots, but vicious too?! What the heck kind of people do that? Those could seriously hurt someone! They were SHARP! *shakes head* I hope they did truly stop after a number of the guys went in trying to find out who was doing it, and I pray that no one got hurt. We really should have stopped the movie as soon as those were brought out and made an announcement that it would not resume until the offenders stepped forward, or were turned in. I wish we had.

Now I'm home. I watched some of "Three Wishes" on TV with mom - that's such a happy show - and now I'm just typing away on here. I'm not at all looking forward to tomorrow or the next day as we're doing an extra show, which means extra "fun" to deal with. *sigh* Oh well. Nothing else to write. Ta ta.

Well, I started writing late Tuesday night. I was going with what I had loosely been thinking of the days leading up to November 1st, which was sort of sci-fi humor. It was going NOWHERE. It was worse that drivel because there was nothing to push the story forward and the first part was pretty pointless. *sigh* So, yesterday, I started fresh. It's going much better now. I'm only a little over 2000 words, but there is hope and a bit of purpose for my story, so that makes things a lot better than the first try! lol I gotta keep writing though! Gotta build up the word count. There's a least one person on the NaNo forums that's past 17,000 words already. How the heck did they do that?! lol

Yesterday was pretty calm. I believe I hung around the house all day in my pajamas. I've already forgotten though. My brain is already being phased by the challenge! Ahh!!!! lol Oh, oh!!! BUT, last night I download the Boys' new video for "I Still..." and oh is it ever pretty! lol Best looking Nick in a video EVER people! I only watched it twice because it was doing crazy things to me. lmao Let me just say... Nick with squished eyebrows, and Nick pulling his jacket together. Woo... *fans self* By the way, the rest of the Boys look very good as well. ;) lol

Today I slept longer that I had originally intended. Nothing new there. When I finally managed to get up, I got ready and went straight down to work. I built Chicken Little, and my mom brought me a sandwich and came down to watch it with me once I'd finished getting it all onto the platter. :) It's pretty funny. It's only got 30% at RottenTomatoes.com though. Ouch. I can see why, but it was decent at least. I probably found it a little more humorous at parts than other people, and certainly children, would. I wouldn't have paid to go see it, but since it was free, it was pretty decent. lol

The dress rehersal for the community college play that Tammy is doing costumes for was tonight. She invited me and I would have been free, but I decided not to go. I sort of wanted to have some time to try writing some more, and the weather is not exactly wonderful to be coming home at 11 PM. So, I might go see it next weekend if I can get off work. I wish they'd be doing an earlier show, but apparently they're only doing one this Saturday. Whatever.

Now I shall wrap this post up. I'm going to attempt to write more, and I'm also going to continue praying that the power does not go out. Or, at least, it doesn't go out until the AM when I'm already in bed and won't have any need for it. It would not bother me so much except that we have no water without electricity, and that's rather annoying. Anyway, off I go. Wish me luck with writing more! ;) lol

You remember how I said I was really excited for today in my last post? Well, first off, today is starting to write for NaNoWriMo, second of all, Star Wars III came out on DVD (which I now have), but what I really meant when I said that was that I went to the screening for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this morning. Sadly, I expected to be so much happier afterward than I currently am. So, now, what I think of the movie with possible spoilers.
It definitely starts off different than the other movies. I was way glad that they put in the gardener going up to check the Riddle house, etc. However, the first thing to agitate me was that they put Barty Jr. in the room with Voldemort and Wormtail that Harry sees! Like, right there, face and everything! Tammy says she can understand why they did that from a movie point of view, but I still think they should have left it out. Anyway, you miss more of the conversation than what's in the book. Harry then wakes up from the "dream" at the Weasley's house. There is absolutely nothing from Privet Drive in the movie. Right after Harry wakes up, there's an adorable Ron moment, so that was the second thing to make me happy. lol The whole first part of the movie is transitionless. They jump through so much without explanations. I'd love to know what people who haven't read the books end up thinking about this movie.

Anyway, the portkey scene is good, and there's a beautiful line that Harry says when they get to the tents and the Weasleys reach their's. -- Oh my gosh, I just realized I did not notice at all if Wood was anywhere in the World Cup scenes. I thought I'd heard it was going to be in there for a few moments, but I didn't even remember until just now, and I don't recall having seen him. -- Then they go off to watch the game, and the arena looks awesome, and there's some other cool stuff, and then it CUTS to the Weasley's tent again where they're just all of a sudden teasing Ron about liking Krum. There is nothing of the actual game. I was so disappointed.

Then there is all of a sudden a commotion outside and the Death Eaters are running amuck. Everyone flees, as their supposed to, but Harry stays there. The whole bit with the Dark Mark getting put up in the sky, etc. all takes place in the tent area which is now abandoned and parts of which are aflame. They cut all of Dobby's parts completely out of the movie. There is also pretty much no questioning of Harry when he says he didn't put the Mark in the sky. They automatically just believe him after he asserts that it was so. Oh yeah, they actually show Barty Jr. conjuring the Dark Mark there, too.

CUT to the Hogwarts train. There's a cute little scene where we first see Cho and Harry's all smitten. Adorable. Then they're at the castle all of a sudden and the other schools are both arriving. There are just some "oohs" and "ahhs" about them arriving, but they make a much bigger deal about the students from the two other schools entering the feast than they do of the extraordinary means they arrived by (as it is in the book). Personally, I think the introduction of the students is reminiscent of a circus and it looks stupid. There's also a totally pointless scene of Filtch walking funny that has absolutely no point to the rest of the story. It's a filler scene where none should have been used as the fourth book has the most action going on. *shakes head and sighs*

The Weasley twins, as always, are a bright spot in the movie! Gotta love them trying to get their names into the Goblet of Fire. Heheheh. They look so cute old, but I'll let the rest be a "surprise." Then the winners are picked which had a few good bits, but also was rather different from the book, for sure. You don't hear Fleur, Krum, or Cedric voice their opinions on Harry being a fourth contestant. Actually, compared to what happens in the book, there's hardly a commotion made over it with the exception that Dumbledore ATTACKS Harry, which I thought was a breach of character for him.

Let's see... what else... I was originally unsure if I thought the boy they got to play Cedric was as cute as he's said to be in the book, but I am sure now that he is. lol It's all in his smile. Studly British boy. *pre-cry moment over the eventual fate of dear Cedric* I love you Cedric!!! (Side note: I have now decided to name a character in one of my novels Cedric in commemoration of him. He will, of course, be different than the one in HP, but he will be just as hott and wonderful.) This sort of moves me in to another point... in the movie, we don't get to know hardly anything about the other three Champions. Krum only has a few lines. He mostly just stands there looking gruff and making meaningful facial expressions. I mean, he doesn't talk much in the book, but still. They also completely neglect to tell us that Fleur is a Veela and discuss her power over all the boys. She is not commanding in the movie, as she is in the book.

Harry and Ron's fight is not very well explained, and Ron and Hermione get along a lot better than they're supposed to. *rolls eyes*

The dragons look great. I was bummed that they didn't show anything from anyone else's first task though. Also, they made Harry's part in the first task longer than it's supposed to be. Grr. Oh yes, and Rita Skeeter could be taken out of the movie entirely for all the part that she plays. In the book she's so freakin' annoying, but in the movie, she only pesters Harry twice. TWICE.

The Yule Ball was pretty good, except that there was a rather odd part of their dance that just tweaked me. lol Also, no Death Day party. That one, though, I can understand leaving out, and it does not bother me. Ron's dress robes were beautiful! They were just as hideous as I had imagined! Poor darling Ron. He's totally my hero. Oh, and there was LOVELY Neville/Ginny moments at the Ball! SO CUTE! I adore Neville too!

Third task was okay. Neville gives Harry the Gillyweed. *rolls eyes* He's not supposed to! Oy! They did a nice job with Krum's half-shark deal and the mer-people though. They made the part with the hinkypunks(sp?) backwards though. They attack Harry BEFORE he gets to the stolen "treasures" in the book, and after he's already got Ron and Fleur's sister in the movie. Also, no mer-king, and no explanation as to why Krum did not get second place (it's because his transfiguration was incomplete).

I'm trying to remember everything else now. I believe, though, that it goes pretty quick to the third task after the second, though. There's no pre-explanation about the maze. Big anger point in the maze is that there is no huge spider. It's the hedges that attack Cedric. *again, rolls eyes* And Harry does not get injured.

Harry and Cedric do grab the Tri-Wizard Cup together though, and are whisked away quite nicely. However, it takes a few minutes before Cedric is killed, which was a little odd since I was expecting it pretty much right after they materialized. So incredibly sad though. *big tear for Cedric*

Another bright spot... Ralph Fiennes was perfect to play Voldemort. I was not at all sure about that one when I first heard since he's so good looking in real life. But then, Riddle was supposed to be quite handsome before he became serpent-like, so that's quite proper. They did his face up great with the slit nose like it's supposed to have and everything. Very good. Most of the stuff in the graveyard is pretty good, actually. It's disappointing that they don't explain more of what's going on when Harry and Voldemort's wands "lock" and people start coming out of it. They at least mention later that they were "spells" and not just people, but yeah. Harry grabs Cedric's body and the Cup and they pop back at the tournament. This scene was very good. Harry's crying (though, Tammy thinks he's not a very good crier, I still think he did plenty decent at least), and everyone else is cheering, not realizing that Cedric isn't moving. Good scene.

Harry then gets led off by Moody and that scene was kinda eh. Then we have the remembrance for Cedric, the leaving of the other students, and the end. I didn't really like the end. It just fizzled on and then stopped. *shrugs*

Overall, though, I'd still have to recommend seeing it. I'm definitely going to watch it again to try and grab things I may have missed, etc. It's still somewhat disappointing though because the preview makes it look so awesome, the book was really awesome, and the movie just didn't rise up to where it could have easily been.
After the movie was over, I dropped Tammy off at school, then proceeded to go to Target. Along with getting SWIII, I also got a big stash of knee-high socks, Care Bear band-aids (yeah!), hand lotion (we'll see if it works any better than the other kinds I've tried), chap stick, and kitty cat wet food. Wee haw. Now I am home, and I'm feeling it's past lunch and I should eat real soon. However, still a bit more to post.

The last two years I have worked Halloween night at the theatre, and absolutely NO ONE has shown up. NO ONE. Last night, about 30 people came! What the hey?! I suppose it must be because we were actually playing a Halloween kind of movie this year, whereas we did not the last two. Fun for me. My night was made vastly better though when I managed to finally get a hold of Tara on the phone, so I talked to her the whole time and really didn't work while the movie was going. Oops. lol Well, now I must be off. Ta ta!
