Today's been pretty laid back. Got up and had breakfast, then read for a few hours until my Grandpa came to get me. It was just me and my Grandparents and my Uncle David for lunch. No one else could make it. Oh well. I guess maybe next time. There's no telling since everyone down here is so busy. I only stayed for a bit after lunch, and then my Grandma took a nap and my Grandpa drove me back here. I'll see them again tomorrow night anyway.

Mostly just hung around here after that, and then CJ, one of her friends, and I watched Anacondas: Hunt for the Blood Orchid. lmao I saw the first one, but never the new one, whereas CJ and her friend didn't even know there was one before that! I'm not sure if the two are actually meant to be grouped together, but it's basically the same thing either way. It was good though. It amused me, and there was some stuff that I didn't expect. Woah. I'd totally watch it again if it was on TV or something. ;)

And now, I guess there's steak cooking on the BBQ for dinner. Not totally thrilled about that, but as long as it's cooked completely and there's not a ton of fat hanging all over it, I suppose I'll be okay. It's hard to say you don't want/like something when people are letting you stay with them and feeding you for free, you know? I just won't eat a lot of the meat and stock up on whatever else is going along with it. lol

Not sure exactly what's going on tomorrow, but it should hopefully be fun. Mike and I are doing something during the day, but neither of us knows what. lol Then, I'm hopefully having dinner with Val, which should be nice. :) And Tuesday I return home, and I'm ready. The trip's been great, but I miss my mom and dad, the kitties, and my room. ;)

HoL fanlisting Well, Ilaria totally surprised me in the e-mail she sent me by re-opening the fanlisting for me. Sam had previously surprised me a few years back by opening it and making me feel totally way special. lol *hugs Sam* You rock! lol I think the domain it was originally on died. No one had joined in a long time anyway. So, maybe people will join the new one now. :) Huge thanks to Sam for originally creating it, and now a huge thanks to Ilaria for opening it anew. It gave me a great pick-me-up from feeling a bit down. And... I'm going to write about that, too.

So, am I a loser? I really don't think that I am, but I feel like a lot of people do, and there are some people who call me a dork and stuff regularly, and they say that they're just kidding or they love me anyway or whatever, but words are sharp. As a writer, I know that words hold weight and they are powerful. They can be beautiful, imaginative, adventurous, mysterious, etc. But there is always a good and a bad side to almost everything (God is PURE goodness). As evidenced by a fanlisting being in existence for me, not everyone thinks I'm a loser or whatever. I know my mom and a lot of the rest of my family loves me and knows how special I am, and God does, but I don't feel like the other people I know do. Let's face it and bring it out in all honesty... I have no friends except for the wonderful ones I know online. I don't do anything with anyone. I sit at home. If I didn't have my mom as a friend, I'd be lost. I definately don't feel like a lot of people care about me at all, whereas I care about them. Some times I honestly think I'm going to end up totally alone. And, I know that God is always with me, but at the same time He made it so that we also need human companionship. I feel so greedy though. It's like, I've been SO incredibly blessed to have such a great mom, and now a good step-dad, and God who loves me unconditionally, but I still want more. Moving on...

I don't know if this is just me or others have this thing too, but I don't look like I think I look in my head, or how I feel I look. Last Friday when I was leaving my Aunt and Uncle's house with my Aunt Maureen, I looked in the mirror and didn't recognize myself at all for a second. We'd been sitting at the dinner table the whole thing and had lots of good chats and I felt like me, and then when I saw me, I totally thought it was another person for a moment. It sort of freaked me out. It's like I'm hiding in my fat body. Yes, I think I'm fat. I hate seeing it and I hate that I don't do anything about it. That I just eat more chocolate, more ice cream, more anything because it tastes good and it makes me feel better for a moment. Maybe in admitting this to myself in writing, that will somehow help me to make a change. And changing the subject again...

I don't know what I'm going to do about tomorrow. My cousins Daniel and David can't come to the lunch party at my Grandparent's because Daniel has too much homework and he had too much stuff to do the rest of the weekend that he couldn't do it then. It looks like Jess and Shay won't be coming either because Shay's got lots of homework, too. And now, CJ's decided she won't go because of her mom and dad. The two of them are pissed at my Grandma because she's not getting help for her problem and she recently did a pretty big thing that got my cousin Mike into trouble at his job, even though my Aunt and Uncle had told her not to. So they resolved that they won't see or talk to my Grandma at all until she fixes herself, and now CJ's wondering if that'll work and she doesn't want to piss her parents off, which I'm pretty sure she would if she went. I said I was coming tomorrow, and I will. Now I just don't know how I'll get there. I agree thaqt my Grandma has got a big problem and she's not in her right mind, but I don't think shutting her off is the answer. I think that will just throw her into the depression stage of the bi-polar, and that's not going to do any good at all. I don't know what the solution is, but if people really showed my Grandma that they love her, I think that would at least help. So now I don't know what to do or how tomorrow is going to go. I tried to call my Grandparents earlier this evening, but it just kept ringing and didn't go to the answering machine, so I guess I have to try again in the morning.

I think I have another problem of letting things build until they have to spill out. And now I'm thinking I don't want anyone to read this stuff, but it's written and I'm just going to hit publish. Otherwise, I won't have really gotten any of this out. I don't care if anyone reads this or not, but it helps me to write it.

P.S. I'm not looking for pity from anyone. I don't want a bunch of people asking if I'm okay. It's just one of those times, you know? I feel better already and I'll be fine in the morning, I'm sure.

][ 10:50 PM

Just got back from Camelot. It's an awesome place with mini golf, lazer tag, and an arcade. We played mini golf and it was lots of fun. I made this great shot too, and I had to take a picture of it. lmao

my mini golf shot

In total, true honesty, it stopped there all on it's own. lol I did not just set it there and take a picture. It was awesome! lmao

After mini golf we were going to do lazer tag, but there was an hour wait, so we got refunds in the form of arcade tokens. CJ and I did DDR, then her legs were too tired and Mike jumped in for the last one, which I failed. lol It was fun though, and I hadn't done that in a while, so yay. Oh yeah, that totally reminds me that my mom got me some gift certificates for the arcade back home at an auction she went to last weekend. Yay for more DDR and a bunch of ParaPara! lol Anyway... I had five tokens left and just wanted to use them up, so I went to the ticket games. lol You know the one that's in a circle and it's got lights and you push the button and wherever the light stops on, that's how many tickets you get? And it's like impossible to get it to land on the jackpot? Well, that's what I did. I got a few tickets with the first three, and then on the fourth one... JACKPOT! LMAO I got 253 tickets! WOOOOOOO!!! lol These girls standing next to me were so amazed/jealous. So, I used 100 of my tickets to get this little shark statue which will fit wonderfully with my bathroom motif at home. I wanted to give the leftover tickets to the two girls that saw me win the jackpot, but I couldn't find them and so I just gave them to a lady to give to her kids. lol I had a total of 274 tickets before I used any of them. That was so funny though! And... AWESOME.

][ 6:36 PM

Thursday night I had this awesome dream! I was at a book store and had something I'd written with me (a story that in my dream was pretty far along and I know it's not something I've already written, but now I can't remember anything more than this tiny fact, lol). This famous author was there (I'm not sure if she or her books exist in real life) and asked to read my first chapter. I let her and she ended up reading it out loud and I could visualize the whole thing in my mind like it was a movie (complete with a non-realistic looking dragon). Everyone in the place ended up hearing and clapped afterward. Then, the author announced that she was going to take me as her new apprentice/protoge and help me further hone my skills. That, my friends, is a dream that makes a writer happy. :D

In other news, yesterday was my last day at Disneyland. Mike said he was going to go the whole day with me, but then he ended up having too much stuff to do. So, he went with me for about an hour and a half (he's got an annual pass so that sort of thing doesn't matter for him), and then he left and I stayed by myself for a while. I did some shopping and even got something that I will probably end up sharing with my co-workers when I get back. I'm so way too nice to them. Anyway... I did a lot of walking around and even had a chat with my mom while I waited for CJ to get out of school and come join me. :)

Her and I had lots of fun and went on quite a few rides while also watching the fireworks and Fantasmic! It had been a LONG time since I'd seen Fantasmic, so that was pretty cool. We did not have the best view of it though. ;) lol I'd say my time at Disneyland was quite a success and lots of fun. Oh yeah, and CJ and I went on the carrousel! lmao It was AWESOME! I was six years old for half the day, I think. ;)

And, while we were there, I told CJ about the thing with Keith and how he'd totally just blown me off. I couldn't help thinking about him/it because yesterday was his birthday. So, with the encouragement of my cousin, I sent Keith a text message that just said "happy birthday." I've not gotten a reply back, and I don't expect I will, so I just won't bother him anymore. The whole thing still makes me sad, but I just have to deal. I find my best friend from preschool and he seems like he's happy to hear from me, and then nothing. Gar. But, I only asked God if I could some day find out how he was doing, and I did, so I guess I'm good and I should just be happy/thankful.

This morning my Aunt Maureen came and picked me up and we went to Balboa Island for a while. I got a little bag of salt water taffy, and it is quite yummy. lol I didn't get anything else though. lol I'd forgotten that most of the shops there are clothing places, and I wasn't really interested in looking at any of that. Then my Aunt took me to In and Out Burger, and it was delicious!

Now I must sign off as my cousins and I shall shortly be headed off for more fun! :) Yay! Or, I should say, some of my cousins as the other two are too busy. lmao

I slept in really late this morning. Then, I spent the first half of the afternoon just hanging around and watching TV, playing on the computer a bit. Val came and got me around 4:30 PM and we went off to Disneyland again! :D We went the wrong way to get to the parking garage and had to make a rather large U-ey. lol Made it though, and went in to California Adventure first to catch the last show of the Aladdin musical. We sat in the lower orchestra section, and it's the best view of the show I've had. I've seen it two or three other times in the past two years, and I highly recommend it. They give the Genie new jokes every once in a while too, and he's quite humorous. On reference to a bad, bad show that I didn't particularly like though. But, what's a girl to do, I suppose? After that, we went into the animation building and walked through the Sorcerer's Workshop until the next Animation Academy drawing time was scheduled. The guy told us when we first asked how long until the next one that we'd be drawing Mickey, but when we got in there, it was actually Goofy, who I'd already drawn! Oy. I drew him again though, and he looks rather different because this guy had a totally different style of drawing Goofy. I liked the other guy better.

By the time we were done with all that stuff, C.A. was closing, so we went over to DLand for a late dinner. It started to rain while we were eating, then stopped, then started again just as we were finishing. I don't really mind the rain anymore though. ;) So, we ended up getting lightly sprinkled on, but then it totally stopped and sky cleared. We walked around a bit and then waited out by It's A Small World (I really don't like that song!) until the fireworks started. My aunt and uncle told me last night about how they project stuff onto It's A Small World while the fireworks were going, so Val and I checked it out. It was VERY cool. Basically, like a whole different show than sitting in front of Cinderella's castle. And the fireworks they've got right now in celebration of the 50th are truly spectacular with music choreographed to it and everything. I even took some pictures seeing as how my T9 actually has a fireworks mode. lol Had to try it out!

I love the shapes that they have, like the first picture with the star. They also had smiley faces and planets with rings around them, even a couple hearts! It was awesome! And then there are a few times where the whole park is lit by the fireworks they've got going. I highly recommend watching them if you get a chance to go to Disneyland before the celebration is over. It's still going on through the summer, I'm pretty sure. ;)

Val and I only went on one ride. lol We went on the Matterhorn after the fireworks ended since it was right there. Once we got off, it was just past ten, which is when the park closed tonight. It's okay though because we got the rides in last Thursday so today was more the shows and little things. Fun, fun. :) And, one more day of fun there for me with my cousins coming up.

I should probably go to sleep now. I had to get online to update the theater website though, and then I thought, I might as well blog and post a few of the fireworks pictures while I'm at it, right? Looks like the rest of my trip is pretty well planned out now. Just got to make a few phone calls tomorrow to check who all is coming to the second little party at my Grandparent's house. Nighty night.

Angels won 4 to zip against the Tigers today! :) It was a good game, and I had fun. It was just my Grandpa and me. He told me about some of the players and taught me that a higher average means they're a better batter. Yeah, I didn't know that, so sue me. I'm not really a baseball fan people. It's nice to go see a game every once in a while though, and there was a home run so that was cool. :) I burnt my scalp though. lol I was silly and didn't have a hat or anything. Hopefully it won't hurt to bad when I comb it tomorrow morning... it looks fairly red though. And I swear, the corner of my left eye was getting sunburned! It sounds weird, but it sure as heck felt like it. Our seats were on the bleachers under the shining sun. It was overcast in many other cities around there, but not over the stadium. lol I went and got a soft pretzel part way through the game and this one guy was quite polite. First, he let me go ahead of him, and then when one of my dollars flew out of my hand, he picked it up for me. Apparently chivalry still exists in rare beings. lol I was walking back to the seats and the napkin blew away. Apparently I'm just sort of clutzy. *rolls eyes at self*

Traffic on the way back to my Grandparents house was terrible. There was an accident on the freeway. Hopefully everyone is okay who was involved in it. :( We made it to their house finally though, and then sat for a while before dinner. I watched some stuff on the weather channel about people who'd survived different storms, etc., and that was pretty cool. Then we left and went to Sizzler for dinner. Good salad bar. :)

I just try not to pay too much attention to half the stuff my Grandma says. She's been diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder, for those that don't know, and she thinks she's fine and refuses to take any medication. She said the stuff was killing her. Now that I'm actually down here, it's a lot more noticable too. If she makes a mistake, she lies to cover it up. She has to be right no matter what. And she says/does some pretty crazy things, but of course she thinks she's fine and everyone else is just out to get her. *sigh* So, I just sort of acknowledge her when she says something I know is a lie by just going, "oh," and leaving it at that. Most of the time it's just that she's overly hyper and cannot stop talking at all, but some times it comes out with more than that. I'm not going to write any more about it right now though. It's, of course, rather hard for me. Especially seeing as how my mom and I lived with my Grandparents from the time I was 1 to the end of 3rd grade. I just going to keep praying that she admits to herself that she's got a problem, and that in the meantime she doesn't get others in trouble or hurt herself or someone else by accident.

Well, just checked the lotto numbers... didn't win anything. lol That's what I figured the case would be anyhow. Besides, winning two dollars wouldn't have been a help anyhow. ;) Hahaha.

In other news, I went to Disney by myself today. Everyone around here was working or at school, and I still had two days left on each pass. Now there's two on one of them and one on the other. Anyway... I went in to Disneyland first and hit up Space Mountain right away. Went on some other rides, etc., and then ran over to California Adventure and did another drawing. This time of Donald Duck, who's arguably my favorite Disney character, so I was excited! lol Took a picture and uploaded it again. ;)

donald drawing

Came out pretty decent again, I think. :) I'm happy with it anyway. After that, I went and got myself a Disney name tag with my name engraved on it! lol They look sort of like the cast member name tags and you can get whatever you want engraved on it for free. $6 for all that sounds good to me. ;) I considered getting one that says "popcorn" for everyone at work to share, but I probably won't because no one else will think it's cool like I do. Then I got a tortilla and went back to Disneyland for dinner. Their mac and cheese was not very good. At least I don't feel sick from it... yet. lol I went on the Jungle Cruise (gotta love the puns on that ride) to let myself digest, then I wandered a while and decided I felt like getting picked up.

Now I'm just chillin' and watching TV for a bit. I'll probably do some reading in a bit as my book is finally starting to get moving more and I'm more interested in finding out what happens next now. So yeah, I guess that's all I have to say for now. Ta!

The cracks and cobwebs just give it it's own creative flare, right?

hth image
Regular elevator, service elevator, what's the difference?

hth image
I suppose I shouldn't touch those, eh?

hth image
Those pipes look a little rusty. And hey, what's that gate and that fence area back there?

hth image
Hey, look! Two eyes, a nose, a mouth and a... TEAR?

hth image
39 as in 1939?! Uh...

Hey, guy with the red hat! Are you sure that service elevator works okay? It looks a little old and run down.

Mike and I went to California Adventure today, and I was bored in line the second time we went on Tower of Terror and whipped out my camera because I could. lol Mike had never gone on that ride yet! *splutters* Holy cow! We fixed that today at least though. ;) We were just there for a few hours, and Mike had this extra pass just to get in there, so he gave it to me. That means I've still tons of time left on my Disney passes! lol And now there are more plans, too! lol Just found out I'm going to an Angel's game on Wednesday, well, as long as it doesn't rain. I'm going with my Grandparents. :) Then we're going to Sizzler for dinner. Yum. But anyway... C.A. today was lots of fun. Mike and I went on all the good rides, and then before we left we went into the animation building. They have this area in there called Animation Academy. I'd been in there once before and we just watched a little video and they showed how to draw a Disney character, and that was it. This time, no video, but huge clip-board things with paper and pencil and a bonified Disney artist teaching us how to draw a Disney character step by step!!! SWEET! We drew Goofy, and here's how mine turned out. :)

my drawing of Goofy

I'm surprised at how good it came out! lol I really think it looks pretty good, and you can certainly tell it's Goofy, right? I haven't drawn in a long time, and just kind of went at it without going all perfectionist like usual, and I think that's why it turned out so well. I wasn't trying too hard. I'm so totally going back to do that again at least one or two more times because it was really cool and lots of fun. :D I highly recommend it.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I bought my first lotto ticket! lol I meant to get one right after I turned 18, but every time I went down to the store, I didn't think about it. I happened to mention that to CJ yesterday on the way back from the Grandparent's house, so we stopped at a liquor store and she showed me how to fill out the bubble sheet so that I could get a ticket. I believe the drawing for it is tomorrow, so we'll see if I managed to win anything. lmao I'm not thinking I will. Also bought a dollar scratch ticket, but didn't win anything. Aww, shucks. lol

Yesterday, right after Stargate was over, Mike, Kev, CJ and I piled into the car and drove toward the beach. We went to a surfboard shop first so Kev could get a nice new board, and then met up with Don and my Aunt and Uncle for dinner at the Olive Garden. I had manicotti, and it was yummy. lol We drove back after that, and a few minutes later, CJ comes in and says her friend has invited us to a chocolate fondu party, do I want to go? lol So, we went. And there was LOTS of chocolate. It was very tasty; especially the pretzels dipped in the chocolate. YUM! While we were sitting there digesting, CJ and her friend decided they wanted to go toiletpapering houses and Oreo sticking (lick the frosting and put it on people's cars, lol). I didn't want to go. It ended up raining while we were playing pool, and that's bad for toiletpapering houses, so I was glad. lol I ended up putting in Pop Star and CJ and her two friends and I watched it, and they all liked it too. :)

This afternoon was the little party at my Grandparent's house. My cousins Daniel and David couldn't make it, but CJ came with me and Jess and Shay both made it with their parents as well. :) CJ had a lot of fun using an old-fashioned orage picker and pulling tons of oranges of the tree in our Grandparent's backyard. The sad thing is, that's probably one of the last orange trees left in Orange County. *shakes head* So sad. It was great to see some of my other cousins, and the ones that couldn't make it may be able to this coming Sunday, so that would be nice. I guess I'll hold off talking about the stuff that's going on with my Grandma, or maybe I'll just end up skipping it completely. *sigh*

After CJ and I got back here and had dinner, we picked up some of her friends and went to get ice cream. People keep giving me too much evil food! lol Then, they decided to get flowers for a friend of their's that's sick, so we stopped by the store. The line was long, and they thought the flowers were too expensive, so they put them back and we left and they decided they were going to pick flowers out of people's yards. *shakes head* I just sat in the car and waited until we got back here. lol Then I watched TV, typed this, and now I think I'll fold my laundry and then go to sleep. G'night.

Woot! The wireless works now! lol The other day it would say that it was connected to my cousin's wireless router, but it would not display any webpages. :/ So, just a bit ago, Mike and I were sitting in front of the TV and he brought out his laptop to see if the wireless would work, but it still didn't. Then I remembered that sometimes I have to pull the power on mine and let it "reboot" and then it works again. Mike did that, and now it works! Wee haw! So, now I've got my laptop on my lap as I sit on the couch and we watch Stargate. Later on we're going to the Olive Garden for Mike's birthday dinner. :) It's funny because Mike just told me that this morning, and that's where I went for my b-day dinner too. ;) Hehehe.

Yesterday evening my Aunt Maureen picked me up and we went and grabbed sandwiches and took them to my other Aunt and Uncle's house for dinner. It was a nice visit, and we all talked about all sorts of different things. I had a really good brownie for desert, too. lol Then, Aunt Maureen dropped me back off and I spent the rest of the evening watching TV since no one else was home. ;) lol Fun, fun.

It looks like there will be a little party at my Grandparent's house tomorrow, but I'm waiting for call backs from some people. I guess I'll probably end up going there whether or not my other cousins can go since I haven't seen my Grandma and Grandpa yet. And then, some time this week will be more days at Disneyland. lol And hopefully a trip to play mini golf. That's it for now.

Friday, April 21, 2006

Greetings from California blog readers! I got down here around 9:30 PM Tuesday night. My cousin Mike picked me up from the airport and we ran back to the house to pick up everybody else. My cousins CJ and Kevin, and some friends of Kevin and Mike's (four other people) were getting some things loaded in the other car. I put some of my stuff in the room I'm staying in, we all took a picture, and then we were off to the mountains! My family has a cabin up near Big Bear, and it's been AGES since I've been up there. We used to go every Christmas, but then I moved so that's that. We got to the cabin at midnight and they were all freaking out that it was really cold because it was 55 F! lmao I'm like... that's a heat wave people! ;) There wasn't much snow on the ground around there. Bummer. Anyway, you'd think we would have gone to sleep, but no, they put in the first Ace Ventura movie and broke open the beer and some other alcholic beverage. I politely declined. A couple of them gave me a bit of a hard time about it, but no one pushed, so that was nice. :) After two thirds of the movie, I had to go to sleep. I was already running on a lack of sleep from the past few days. I ended up with the bottom of a bunk bed and the matress on that thing was a ROCK! I seriously contemplated sleeping on the floor because it probably would have been more comfortable. I think I fell asleep around 2 AM, but woke up a number of times during the night because of the bed and the fact that the heat was blasting and I was roasting. lol Then I woke up at 7 AM. lol All on my own too. At 7:30, Mike asked who was going to the grocery store. I elected to stay at the cabin because I wasn't ready yet and didn't want to hold the rest of them up. Saved by the Bell was on!!! There were like four episodes in a row! It was awesome. lol

Once we'd all had breakfast, we piled in the cars and drove to the ski slopes. It was Mike's birthday and he's always wanted to go snowboarding and surfing on the same day, so the ski slopes were the first part of his wish. I sat in the lodge and read while they snowboarded. I don't know how, and it would have been too pricy to learn right then. Don't think I want to anyway. Bad experiance the one time my family tried to teach me to ski years ago. They only boarded for a few hours and then it was back to the cabin for lunch and to watch the video they took on the slopes. And you know what, I got sunburned! I don't even know how that happened. I thought about putting sunscreen on, but I was just going to be sitting in the lodge... and still I got burned. *shakes head* Not too bad, but enough that it bothered me Wednesday afternoon/evening.

When we got back down to the house, everybody readied themselves for surfing and the bonfire to follow. I had to tell Mike I just wasn't up for it. I felt bad, but I was tired and my head was hurting from the sunburn. So, I stayed here and relaxed and watched TV with my Aunt, then I went to bed shortly after 9 PM. My Aunt commented that that's the earliest I've ever gone to bed when I've been down here, which is probably quite true. lol I got a much better night's sleep then. lol

I woke up, I think around nine, yesterday morning and got myself ready. I made a few phone calls and then watched TV while I waited for Val's call that she was on her way to get me. She came around 12:30 PM, we went to Subway for lunch, and then it was on to DISNEYLAND!!! WOO! You are NEVER too old for Disneyland. ;) lol We actually went in to California Adventure first because Val'd never been there before. And, it'd been a long time since she'd been to Disney in general. It took a while to get through the bag checking line, but then it was pretty quick to actually get into the park. It was busy, but we did really well. We went on Tower of Terror first, then ran over to California Screamin', and then on MaliBoomer(sp? on that one). I wanted to go on GRR, but Val didn't want to get soaked, so we didn't. Oh yes, and we OF COURSE stopped by the tortilla factory!!! Yumm. And, they had these awesome edible tortilla decals of Mickey, Minnie, and the Cinderella castle, so we each grabbed one of those. lmao Then it was off to Disneyland.

We went straight to Space Mountain to get fast passes, but they were already out for the whole day! Arg. Disneyland was even more croweded than C.A., so we wandered a bit before we finally decided that we just had to wait in a line for a while. lol I think the first ride we went on was Matterhorn. After that we got Icees and Churros and sat down for a while to ease our pains. ;) lmao Val's feet were hurting, and my lower back was not happy. While we were sitting there, my cell phone rang and it was Wes calling to tell me there was a last minute decision to change over the movie for this week. Good thing he called right then, or I would not have heard my phone at all. lol I kept randomly checking it during the day to find voice mails and missed calls waiting for me. Haha. Anyway, after I got off the phone with Wes, a gust of wind blew my Disneyland map right off my lap and into the little pond right behind us! We watched it sink. It was so sad, and it was litter! But it was an accident! Val and I had a good laugh over it though. lol

I'm not sure of the order of rides after that, but I think the next one ended up being the Haunted Mansion. Last time I rode that, my cousins shared with me that you are close enough to knock on the back of people's little "cars" (for lack of a better word). So, I did. lol I finally got it nice and loud too, and the guys in front of us were all like, "OMG, something's knocking on the back of our thing!" lol Then the ride stopped. I was like... oh crap. Val and I looked at each other and we're both like, "do you think they have cameras in here? We sat there for a bit, and then it started back up again. I tell you, I'll never do that again though! lol Especially since we learned they do have cameras on the rides. ;) Oops. Someone's had a bad effect on me or something. lol

At some point during the time in Disneyland, I broke part of my thumb nail off. Then I kept fidgeting with it and it was kind of sharp. Val and I were talking about it and I remarked that it could be a weapon or something! Then, I spit out the word Nailfu. lmao That gave us some stuff to joke about while waiting in line for the rest of the night. It was like, "I'll whip out my Nailfu on you!" Hehehe. :P I thought it was funny.

All together in Disneyland we did Matterhorn twice, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, the Winnie the Pooh ride (it's awesome! lol), Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, Space Mountain twice, and Indian Jones (I would have gone on it anyway, but Wes also told me to go on it for him, so that was for him, lol I my first time on Space Mountain was for my mom. Tag if you have a request, lol). I'd say that was pretty good for how many people were there. We also caught the fireworks, though a tree obscured a fair amount of it for me, and they were AWESOME! All choreographed to music from classic Disney rides and movies and even Star Wars. My eyes started to well up a bit with tears during one part where they had a clip of Walt talking about Disneyland and the park meant, etc. You can call me a sap, but I couldn't help it, and I'm not embarassed about it.

Val and I also took our pictures at Pooh Corner sitting around hunny pots overflowing with hunny goodness. lol And in front of the barrier they have for the Finding Nemo attraction coming next year. Mine's in front of Bruce, and Val's is by the fish obessed by bubbles, who's name neither of us could remember. lol We did some other random pictures too, so it was fun. :) We stayed until the park closed at midnight, then Val dropped me off before she headed home. I tried to get online last night to update the theater site, but for some reason, the wireless connection off my cousin's router just did not want to work. :( So, I got up early this morning and plugged the cord into my laptop and now it's okay. lol Not sure why the wireless didn't want to work. It worked last time I was down. *shrugs*

Today is a mellow day. All my relatives that I'm staying with are busy, busy today, so I'm on my own for a good portion of it. My Aunt from my dad's side is going to get me in a few hours though, and then we're going to meet up with another of my Aunt and Uncle from my dad's side for dinner. :) At least that gives me something to do today besides just sitting in front of the TV. ;) Other than that, I don't really know what I'm doing for the rest of my trip. Except that, I'm going back to Disney a couple more times at least. ;)

P.S. I had a number of wierd dreams last night/this morning. One in particular that I want to post about, but cannot due to the new people who are now reading my blog occasionally while they're at work. lol I think I'll e-mail you about it Sam. ;)

Did you know that malls and major chain retail stores are closed on Easter? I do now! lol My mom and I drove all the way out to Wal*Mart yesterday only to have them be closed. Then we swung by the mall, but it was closed too. lol So, to make it sort of worth having gone out, we stopped at a couple local places on the way back, and rented videos from the store. We watched Memoirs of a Geisha and then I watched Supercross in the evening. I rented it because Aaron Carter's in it, but he was hardly in it at all, so I was sad. lol It was egh. Not horrible, but not real good either, and no real decernable plot line to it. I was just going to be on the computer to get directions to meet Ran today after that last night, but then I saw the lovely (in a figurative sense, lol) comments on my tag board and ended up doing some other stuff too, so I didn't go to sleep early like I had planned. But when does that ever happen?

Church was also lovely yesterday morning. A very nice Easter service, and despite that I'd gotten hardly any sleep, I did the video pretty well the first service. I botched up on one part just because I forgot for a second and by the time I remembered, the pastor had just moved on and scrubbed the idea. Oops. I thought I was going to be doing video for second service as well, but just as it was starting, the other lady showed up and said she'd take over. I was covering for her the first service and since she made it to the second, she really wanted to that one even though I said I didn't mind. *shrugs* So, I was there for a few minutes of second service, but then went home. Actually, I stopped for hot chocolate first, and it was good. ;)

This morning I woke up at nine and left at ten to meet Ran. Her and her husband are leaving at the end of the month (and before I'm back from my vacation), so we hung out today. They're moving to Utah, so it's a little ways away. lol Ran and I went to Wal*Mart and I had no luck finding pants there, but got some shirts and a few other things. Then we drove to the mall and walked around, talked, shopped, and had lunch. It was very nice. :) And I did end up finding two pairs of pants, each from a different store, that I liked and bought. So I got my main thing I wanted before leaving tomorrow. lol I had my digital camera with me so we took a couple pictures together outside the mall. I'll miss Ran, but at least there's still e-mail and stuff.

I hung around the house for a couple hours after I got back from that and then went to work. More people showed up tonight than I thought would, so that was rather nice I suppose. It was good because it was a fair crowd, but not too big, and I still had time to call my cousin Michael and talk to him before tomorrow. He, CJ, and I are going up to the mountains right after they pick me up from the airport tomorrow night. Wednesday is Michael's birthday so he and CJ are going to go skiing, and I'm going to sit and read in the lodge. ;) I don't know how to ski or snowboard, and I'm more than fine with sitting in the lodge and occupying myself for a while so they can get some skiing in before their passes expire. :) I also told Michael I'm making pancakes for us all on his birthday for breakfast.

When I got home from work, I talked to Val for a while on the phone. Still have no clue which day she's going to Disneyland with me, but at some point it will happen. She hasn't been in a LONG time, so we'll have lots of fun going crazy and hitting as many rides as possible! lol She also said she wanted to go to dinner one night as sort of a be-lated b-day dinner thing for me. Aww... I feel so special. Islands, here we come! lol They have very good fries there and you get to watch videos of people surfing while you wait to be seated. ;)

Well, I guess that's all for now. Got a few things to do tonight, but the packing won't be until tomorrow because I have to do laundry in the morning. lol Val laughed at me for that. ;) I got my list though, so it theoretically shouldn't take me long to pack it all up, right? Hope I don't forget anything important. Oh yes, and I got a good fortune out of the cookie my dad brought home for me tonight: "You desire to discover new frontiers. It's time to travel." Ha, I am traveling tomorrow! lol

I guess I shouldn't have blogged at work. Either that, or I should have cleared the history. Why? Because the guys then found my site, but they gave me a good laugh and didn't do anything terrible. More about that in a moment. First, I shall write about freaking myself out and having problems with the movie the first show. lol

So, I start the first show and go back downstairs and someone meets me right there and says there's no sound in the theater. I run back upstairs and everything's fine with the sound as to what the display says, but there was still no sound. So, I figured it wasn't reading off the film like it was supposed to in that particular mode, and changed it into another mode that's not as good, but works. Then I thought that as soon as the previews were over everything would be find because the movie runs off of a DTS disk. Nope. You could hear the music and sound effects, but the character's mouths would be moving without the words accompanying them. Oy!

I had no clue what would be causing that or how to potentially fix whatever the problem was. So, I turned off the projector, grabbed a stack of free passes, and went back downstairs. Lucky me, I got to go into the theater and have everyone stare at me as I tell them the bad news that there are technical difficulties and the movie won't be starting back up so everyone needed to leave, but they would get a pass to come back, etc. I was already freaking out because there were issues with the projector, so there was no discernable "stage fright" effects as I was already kind of having them. lmao Once passes were pretty much taken care of, I went to call my boss and had to leave her a message, as well as a message for a co-worker. I had to go to the bathroom at that point, so I asked Nate to call Wes for me.

When I was done, I talked to Wes and he said he thought he knew what the problem was. I was like, okay, what? Turns out, he accidently turned off an extra breaker last night when he was closing. I had no clue to even consider that a possibility. Apparently the sound runs off of different breakers, and one of them is right below a breaker for the lights that gets turned off every night. So, I turned that back on, started the movie back up (mind you, all the customers were gone by then), and everything was fine again. *shakes head* I just wish that I would have not been so freaked out and thought to call people before I called the show cancelled. But at the same time, I had no way of knowing it was just a breaker. I thought that one or more of the speakers had gone out and that's why the sound wasn't working for certain parts. *sigh* Oh well. Second show went fine. lol

And now, this brings me to what I started out the post saying. We still had to run through the movie once we got everything working again, but it ended much later. So, right before the credits were finished, Thomas got onto the computer and found this site in the history (he was bugging me for the address, but I wouldn't tell him). Then I went upstairs to thread the projector. When I got downstairs again, Josh and Nate had joined Thomas by the computer. I go over and they're in the process of copying mulitple shortcuts to my blog onto the desktop. lol They filled up the entire desktop! The last shortcut was called something close to 'copy(120) of 4606!' Then Josh gets the "brilliant" idea to take the main image for my layout and use it as the desktop wallpaper. Haha to him because it's a sliced image. lol He was trying to figure out how to put all the slices together in Paint, and I was helping him! Why? Because I couldn't help it. He was doing it wrong and I felt compelled to explain it. lol Then I caught myself and stopped, and people showed up for the movie then, so that saved it. I cleared all the stuff off the desktop before I shut down the computer. In all honesty though, I wouldn't be surprised, if one of them is working tomorrow, that they'll do it again and it will be there to greet me next time I work. *shakes head* Like I said, a good laugh though.

I had a thought the other day about why I got so upset about my license being printed the wrong way and everything. Mostly, it's just that someone should have said something or they need to fix their system, but I think a portion of it was this: Already people think I'm way younger than I really am because I don't really look my age. The thing with the license isn't exactly helping to change that, you know? So, I'm thinking that's why I got so overly upset about it. For now, I'm just going to have to deal with the stupid license that I got, but I'll go get a replacement eventually. And now, I suppose I shall go as I'm typing this at work and people are probably going to start showing up to buy tickets soon. Ta!

Oh no! I'm a slugabed!!!! *laughs/cries* I was just looking through the recent archives of the word of the day at Merriam-Webster Online and I saw that word and was curious as to what it meant, so I clicked on it.

slugabed • \SLUG-uh-bed\ • noun
: a person who stays in bed after the usual or proper time to get up; broadly : sluggard

And then, after I realized that, I noticed that the day that it was the word of the day was April 6... my birthday! lmao It's sad, but true... I'm a slugabed. *cries* Note, though, that it is still the laugh/cry that it's funny but sort of sad at the same time. *shakes head at self* I keep laughing though.

][ 11:49 PM

I did something today! Amazing. I had the day off of work and instead of just sitting around the house, I went out and did some stuff! lol Nothing too spectacular, but I have one semi-interesting story out of it, and another that's rather humorous, if you ask me. ;)

I stopped first to look for a new pair of pants, but didn't find anything I liked for a good price. Oh well. Then I went to FedEx Kinkos to print out the 84 pages of the novel I began back in November for NaNoWriMo. I called yesterday and they said it was eight cents per page which is like $7 and I could just bring down the document on a disk. I got there and the guy that was helping me ended up asking another guy to help too. This second guy was making a big deal about me wanting one copy of an 84 page document. It sounded like something wasn't working, but I was confused. lol Then he said it was a 2 hour job and I could come back tomorrow or go to another store. Since the Kinkos isn't exactly nearby, I was about to say I'd just come back another time, but since I hesitated too long the first guy started saying maybe they could do it this other way, etc., etc. The second guy just kept complaining.

Finally, they started printing my document and I heard the second guy say to the first that he should charge me an arm and a leg for printing out the document, then that he should ring me up for 900 pages. *raises eyebrow* I'm standing there starting to wonder how much this is going to end up costing because I wasn't paying over $10! Some time in the midst of all of that, the second guy asked me if I wanted it printed single or double sided and I said single. He tried to get me to change it to double (which I'm thinking would probably cost more), but I said it was a manuscript and I just needed it printed out. He asked me if I wanted it binded and I said no. He was all like, are you sure, are you sure? I said I'm sure and he replied that he could keep haggling for hours and I just looked at him weird and finally he went to do his job and the first guy rang me up for it, and it was just over $7, which was good. The first guy seemed pretty nice and I think he was sort of wondering about his co-worker or something. lol Anyway, I was looking around the place for a minute or two after that and then the first guy says it's done. Now, was that so hard? lol It took maybe five minutes max. My mom says I should have complained to the manager. Which, it probably would have been good of me just to alert them that their employee wasn't exactly giving off a good impression to customers, at least not me anyway. Do you think they gave me a hard time because they thought I was really young? That just occured to me now. *shrugs* Really nice printing job on my 84 pages though. lol

I went to Target after that to look at pants there, but still no luck. Actually, they didn't have very many jeans there at all, which I thought was weird. I found four new pairs of knee-high socks though, so that was cool. I also went and looked at pens and found some new ones to get. Uni-ball has these new ones that say "helps prevent check fraud" on the package. I was like, really? So I pulled one down and looked at the back and read about it. Apparently this kind of ink absorbes into the fibers of the checks better and prevents them from being washed. Cool. Then, this is the funny thing, I notice this printed seal above where it says that and next to it is printed, "Endorsed by: Frank W. Abagnale, SECURE DOCUMENT EXPERT." Hehehe. You kow, as in the guy that the movie Catch Me If You Can is about? I thought it was cool/funny anyway. I bought a pack because they come in cool colors. :) Also got another kind of pen.

I went to Payless Shoes after that and found these awesome orange shoes. They were so me. They were the half-tennies though and I can't put arch supports in those. I was sorely tempted to get them anyway to have for when I don't need to be in shoes for long periods of time, but I could not justify the $19.99 for them in the end. *sigh* If only they had them as regular tennis shoes as well because they were otherwise very nice and comfy. And orange. lol Mom called me while I was debating over the shoes (she helped me decide against them, which was good). She asked if I'd pick up sandwiches for dinner on the way home, so of course I said yes.

Before we dug into the sandwiches when I got home, though, I had mom walk down the road with me because the herd of elk were all hanging around in this one spot and I thought I'd take some pictures. I wanted to test out using a little Ziploc baggie to cover my digital camera and try for shots in the rain. Found out that it doesn't work. lol So, if I want to take shots in wet weather, I'll have to invest in the sport cover they make for it, which is of course a bit pricy. I'll probably just not take pictures in that kind of weather. ;)

After that we ate and watched some TV, and I helped my mom to make more Hotroot Soup. :) We made a double batch this time because we all like it so much. :D We just have to remember that there's still Stones Inna' Swamp that needs to be finished up as well. Yipes! Well, I think this entry is sufficiently long enough now, so I shall sign off. Ta ta!

The DOL is a piece of SHIT! I want to yell out a whole bunch of cuss words toward them right now. It's probably stupid that I'm so upset over this, but I am, and I can't help that at the moment so I'll just be stupid. I got a notice before my birthday to renew my driver's license before it expired on my birthday. So, the day before my birthday, I went and did that. On my birthday I was talking to Ran, whose birthday is the same day, and I said I went and renewed my license already. She asked if the temp one they gave me was horizontal or vertical? Apparently, since I got my original license, the state has started making the licenses different for whether or not you're under or over 21 years of age. If you're under 21, they print it vertical, and 21 and over get it horizontal. This is so that people can more easily identify your age, just by looking at the license. My temp one was printed vertically. I figured that the real one they sent me would be printed properly in the horizontal direction since by the time I got it, I would be 21. It arrived today... vertical. I spent frickin' over 25 minutes on hold on my cell phone waiting to talk to a person at the DOL to tell them they printed it wrong and get it fixed. *insert multiple cuss words here* It turns out that unless you renew it the day you turn 21 or AFTER, you get the vertical card and you're stuck with it unless you want to go pay an extra $15 on top of the $25 I just spent to renew to get a replacement one that would then be in the proper format. BULLSHIT! No one said anything about that! There was no way I could have known. I thought I was doing what I was supposed to by going in before it expired to renew it and not having a late fee of $10, which was mentioned on the reminder I was mailed. It would have been at least polite if the people at the DMV would have noticed that I was going to be 21 the next day and pointed that out to me and I would have come back on my birthday or after as I also learned from the guy I was finally able to talk to today that they don't slap you with that $10 late fee until three months after your license expires, it just supposedly means you're not supposed to drive after it expires until you renew it. How the hell was I supposed to know any of that? It's just another effin' way for them to milk as much money out of us as they can. So now if I want to get into a 21 and over club (which is one thing I might actually want to do now that I can), I will probably have to pay the $15 to get another new license because the club people will just look at the direction my license is printed and tell me I'm not old enough to come in and leave it at that. The whole thing is just stupid and the result of a crapped up system! I don't want to have to go wait at the DMV again and have to pay more money. And that's why the DOL is a piece of shit.

P.S. The guy I talked to started laughing as I explained why I was calling and basically said that this happens to a lot of other people too.

Saturday was a full day at work. It was also Sam's birthday! :) I sent her an e-mail present a few days before. I hope you had a great b-day Sam! *hug* As for work that day, it went well, but was quite busy. That's good for the theater though.

I had to wake up super early in the morning yesterday (to me, anyway) for church. I shall have to do so again this coming Sunday. Then I had the rest of the day off yesterday. I took a nap for almost three hours, then talked to Tara for a while. My mom and I also called my grandparent's to let them know my flight info for when I'm down there on vacation. :) It's coming up fast! lol I left around 9:15 PM last night to meet Tammy and Crystal. We went and saw V for Vendetta. It was okay. There were parts I liked and others that I didn't. *shrugs* Probably not a movie I'll watch again unless it's on TV and I'm bored or something. There were some really good points in it, but some of it was a little too weird for me, and I realized today that it was entirely plot and I really had no reason to care for any of the characters. I mean, they gave some backstory and I felt sad for them, but I wasn't tied to them and their cause or their survival, etc. It was filmed really well though, and there were some parts that made me laugh, but I can't say that I liked it as much as some people thought I would. Oh well. lol

I slept in this morning and then FINALLY got around to making Stones Inna' Swamp, which is another recipe from the Redwall Cookbook. It was okay. Not so good at the Hotroot soup, but still tasty. Majorly filling though. I ate half of what I had in the bowl and then suddenly felt insanely full and had to put the rest into a container in the fridge. lol I told that to my mom and she said that part was a good thing. ;) It's a soup with dumplings and the dumplings are definately filling.

Then it was off to work after that. We thought it might be kind of busy tonight since it's spring break for the local schools this week, but it wasn't really. Bigger than shows we were having for the weeks prior to opening Ice Age 2, but not as big as last Monday. Who knows how tomorrow will go though!

Grrr... Okay, if you go into my archives and check March 16 of this year, you'll see I wrote about this odd phone call I got from some guy I could not understand. It was about a domain name I no longer own and it was just WEIRD. I got another call today from a lady with the same accent, but actually understood more. She asked about the same domain name that I haven't owned for years now, and asked me to confirm some information, etc. I asked her what company she was from and in an aggitated voice why she wanted to know my info and if I had any other active domain names. She then asked me for a fax number which I said I did not have. She asked me three to four times and I kept having to say I DON'T HAVE ONE! It sounded very scam-y, but she also tried to throw in stuff that made it sound like it was some official thing, etc. She ended up telling me to call an 800 number and I wasn't going to write it down, but then did just for the heck of it. Good thing because I popped it in to the google search and came up with links to this page and this page, which also led to a few other pages on the same thing. If they call me again, I'm going to be super ticked and will probably give them a hard time and yell at them to remove my number from their database and never call me again or else! All the info they got out of me was just me confirming some of my info which they already had, so at least I'm not going to lose money or anything. I'm smarter than that! lol I know never to give out my credit card number or anything over the phone. So, for my fellow friends who have domains... it's possible you could be getting a call from these buggers and just yell at them to remove you from their calling list and hang up. If they keep calling, file complaints with the places listed in the comments on those articles I linked, etc. Flippin' annoying.

I had a great birthday! :) I woke up just before 11 this morning. Mom and I watched some Family Fued and I watched part of Myth Busters before I was beset with many a phone call, which was awesome! lol I feel so loved and special today. ;) I talked to my cousins Mike and CJ (poor CJ is sick) and my Aunt Terry. Looks like there will probably be a trip up to the snow while I'm in California. Fun, fun. That was a very nice conversation with them all and I'm getting further excited about going down to visit.

Before I called them, I left Ran a happy birthday message on her voice mail as today is her birthday as well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAN! She called me back after I got done talking to my cousins and we chatted for a while. I hope she had a lovely birthday, too. Oh yes, and in the middle of my call to my cousins, the house phone rang and it was Tammy calling to wish me a happy birthday as well. lol After those phone calls were done and my mom got back from her walk, we had lunch real quick and then went off to the movies. I was a little wary about how good She's The Man would be, but when I was talking to Ran she said she'd seen it and it was very funny, so that gave me hope. lol Mom and I were the only ones in the theater for the movie, which turned out to be good since we laughed very loudly and talked the whole time. Hehehe. The movie was very funny though, and I enjoyed it. Only two parts were bad, but they just implied and didn't show so it wasn't too terrible. So funny though, and it proves that girls can be just as good at soccer as boys!

I forgot to mention that my dad called my cell phone too while we were on the way to the movie to wish me a happy birthday. :) That was very nice of him.

After the movie, we went to Barnes & Noble for a bit and I browsed and wrote down a few titles to look up more about and consider getting. :) Then we drove to the mall and walked around there for a bit. We went in to Build-A-Bear, but I didn't end up deciding to get anything or build a bear today. Maybe another time. Then we were walking around more and my cell phone rang again, this time it was Val calling to wish me a happy birthday! :) We also went into the Lego store and I discovered they now have Batman legos! Awesome! If they make a Batman lego keychain, I may very well get that. lol ;) Then it was time to go and meet my dad and then head to dinner.

We picked my dad up from his work so we could all ride in the same car to the Olive Garden. And I was given more flowers! Daddy bought me a dozen pretty roses that are cream colored with pink tips. They're very pretty. :) He told me I had to carry them around with me for the rest of the day, so when we got to the Olive Garden, I took them in with me. Hehe. The food was GOOD and I got some desert to go. We dropped daddy back off at his work to pick up his vehicle, and then we came home. I had some of my desert and watched some TV while playing on my laptop for a bit, and now I am typing this up on my desktop. lol I got e-mail birthday wishes from Tara and Sam. Thanks you two! *hug* And Sam's was funny because she joked that I was 40 now instead of just 21. ;) lol And I found out good news that although I have to be 25 to rent a car in the US, I'm old enough to rent a car in Canada!!! WOO!

And that was my b-day. :) Very nice, I think. And I had the day off of work so woo-hoo to that! I could have tomorrow off if I wanted as well since I'm covering some for Brian K. on Saturday, but I think I'll just take the hours as they'll probably be a good thing in the long run. We'll see how I feel in the morning. ;) lmao Nighty night all!

It's officially my birthday as of right now, the time stamped on this entry! Yay! Now, I think I should go to bed so I can get up at a decent time in the morning and go do fun stuff with my mommy! lol

Did you know the DMV is closed on Mondays? I know now, but I did not know when I tried to go down there on Monday to renew my driver's license. I assumed they'd be closed on Saturday and Sunday, but opened the rest of the week barring any possible holidays. Hopefully I'll remember that the next time I have to go and renew. lol That was the main reason I went out during the day on Monday, too. Though, I also got change for the theater since we had such a busy weekend, and I deposited my paycheck and got flea medication for my kitties. Poor kitties. I hate having to put that stuff on them, but it's the only thing that keeps out house from getting totally infested with fleas and they like to eat my feet WAY too much. Heh. Then there was work on Monday evening which was different because we were far busier than any Monday we've had for quite a while. lol Good stuff though.

Yesterday (Tuesday), my mom took me out to buy me my b-day present early. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe special collectors edition DVD! :D Happy, happy, happy!!! We had lunch at Sizzler before getting that, and then we went to Wal*Mart on the way home as well. Mom and I had not been to a Sizzler in a LONG time, so that was nice and the salad was good. :) At Wal*Mart I got some new shampoo and conditioner, a few other things, and three new shirts. It would have been four, but the picture of the Grumpy Bear t-shirt was just an awful tease because they didn't actually have that shirt there! *tear* How cruel! lol Again, work in the evening. There were less people working because Charlie called in sick, but then less people showed up for the movie so we were okay. Another interesting thing happened, but I'm not supposed to tell. *sigh* lol

Today I woke up and watched Family Fued on TV before getting ready. Just before the second episode ended, Brian K. called and asked me if I'd close for him on Saturday. I had to think about it, but then I decided okay. Hours are good, right? He offered to work for me on Friday, so if I decide I could have that day off, but I'll probably just work because... hours are good. lol Then I got ready and left to go to the DMV, which was thankfully open when I got there. ;) I brought a book to keep me busy while I waited, but I honestly have no idea what I read because I was so freaked out the whole time. I don't know why, but my heart was beating faster/harder and I was really nervous. Makes no sense whatsoever because all I had to do was read letters to prove I could see, give the guy $25, and get my photo taken. Something about that room just freaked me out though I guess. Maybe it was all the white or something. *shrugs* I did learn that there's a state-wide earthquake drill in the morning tomorrow on my birthday though. ;) lmao And, of course, I survived the ordeal. I don't really like my picture, but praise be to God that it came out WAY better than my old one. WAY better. lol Hallelujah! I prayed that it would come out okay. lol

When that was done with and I had my nice temporary paper license, I drove over to the store for more milk and some other items. I was about to check out when I remembered about how you can get the three-day Disneyland passes at the store, so I figured I might as well do that while I was there. lol Then I went and got myself a sandwich from a sub place and brought it home to have while I watched Narnia. :D I watched the blooper reel too, which was funny. Some parts more so than others. ;)

When my mom got home she brought me balloons, flowers, and another present! Holy cow! I figured the DVD and dinner tomorrow was more than enough. ;) I told her she spoils me too much. lol She got me a 'Happy 21st Birthday' balloon, and one with Care Bears on it! She said she saw that one when they were blowing up the other and had to get it too. ;) The present she got me was that Pasta Express thing as seen on TV. I tried it out, but I don't think I had the water hot enough because the pasta didn't cook all the way and I was silly and poured all my toppings on it before trying a piece to make sure it was cooked. *slaps forehead* Oy. I'll have to give it another chance to see if it really works or not. ;)

Hehehe... here's something I think I quite funny. Mom and I were watching the 7:30 PM Family Fued episode a bit ago and the current survey was "name a job that starts with the letter J." Of course they got janitor, judge, journalist, and some others, but no one managed to get the last one, number 7. When they asked the question the first thing I yelled out was juggler, you know, like from the circus. ;) lol No one said that at all though. So, they're about to reveal what the final answer was and I tell my mom that I'm gonna say it's juggler and stand by that. She goes, "I'd love to see that!" And it flips over and says... JUGGLER!!! LMAO WOOOOOOO!!!!! Go me, go me, go me... okay. I'll stop. ;) I thought it was pretty funny though, and it just re-inforces my desire to go on that show as a contestant. It would be awesome. lol

Well, I guess that's it for now. Tomorrow I turn 21. Scary! Hehe. And tomorrow is also significant for the name of this domain. Spiffin'. Mom and I are going to see a movie and perhaps do a bit of shopping and then we'll meet up with my dad for dinner at the Olive Garden. Yummmm. We all really like the food there so it works out good for everyone, not just me. ;) Well, ta! *waves*

I'll start out with a brief bit about yesterday and move on to the more interesting topic of things that happened today. ;) Yesterday was work, which was, well, you know... same old, same old. Except that we sold out the last show again and it was really nice that Wes stayed to help me close because I would have been way stressed, to say the least, if it had just been me there. ;) It went very well with his help though and some kids he knew stayed to help pick up trash so we gave them gift passes for a free movie each. :D

After church today we came home to relax for a bit and then we went to a little get-together hosted by a family from our church. I did some work on the guy's website and then re-vamped the website for his non-profit organization a while back. Last summer he went with a group of people to Uganda to build some slow-sand filters for some of the villages because their water is VERY dirty and has all sorts of contaminates in it. My parents ended up sponsering a child from one of the villages they went to through an organization called International Children's Network. This group is awesome because 100% of the money you send goes to the child and they raise money to keep the network going through other fund-raisers and benefactors. Anyway, in one of the mailings there was an extra option to buy some things for our child in Uganda and I offered to do that. I bought her a dress, underware, socks, and shoes. They sent us a picture a month or two ago of her wearing her new dress and shoes. :D So cute!

Anyway... this family from our church brough a guy from Uganda to the states and they're teaching him how to use well drilling equipment so that they can put some wells in the villages so they don't have to do all that trecking to and from the water holes. So this get-together was to meet him and talk to him about what's going on in Uganda, etc. My parents met him a couple of Sundays ago at church, but I was bad that day and had slept in. lol Oops. Anyway, when we got there I met him and his name is Sam. He gave us all hugs and said how glad he was that we came and whatnot. Then my mom had me show him the pictures of our child that we sponsor to see if he knew her and my mom told him how I was the one who bought the dress and shoes and stuff. He started making a big deal about the shoes and thanking me so much for them. I know that a lot of kids in different countries in Africa and other places don't have shoes so that's why I picked those out because since I have feet problems, I know how much more comfortable shoes are to bare feet on hard ground. I did not know, however, about the bugs they have in Uganda. Sam thought I did and just made a little remark about the bugs that eat away at your feet and I was all like, "WHAT?!" They have these bugs in the dirt there that eat the poor children's feet. I'm not sure how bad, but having any bit of skin from my feet fed upon does not sound good at all, you know? So now I'm thinking I should totally send money for them to buy her another pair of shoes because they just got her fancy ones for church and she should have some tennies too. *shivers* Egh to the bugs though. I learned a lot for the hour and a half we were there and it was nice and it felt good to know that I helped some. So now I want to try and help more. When I get a new job and know that I'm fairly financially stable I'm going to try and sponsor another child on my own. So many of the kids over there are orphans and their fathers, especially, don't care about them. Someone there remarked when the team went last summer that the Americans care more for the Ugandan children than their own parents do, and that's hard to hear. They're such sweet looking kids too and they all love school and learning and going to church and it's just really wonderful that things are in motion and being done to help make their lives better. :)

After all of that good stuff I came home and watched TV. *shakes head at self* It was good to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition with my mom though. That's always a feel-good show. There's always some sad stuff in it, but it always ends with so much happiness and it's just nice to see there's so many people with good hearts still. :) When that was done I watched the latest episode of The Next Food Network Star. Hehe. I'm starting to watch a lot more stuff on Food Network. There's some interesting shows on there. I watched two half hour shows with one entirely about salt and the other entirely about garlic and both were AWESOME! I told some other people and they looked at me like I was crazy, but they were really interesting and I love both salt and garlic. lol

In other news, I got the soundtrack to Batman Begins and Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head album. I've only listened to the track "Clocks" on the Coldplay CD so far. It's the song I bought it for. I finally figured out it was by them and what the song was called. lol Great song. Gotta see if there's an instrumental version of it that I can get as well because the music is just beautiful and I think it would make a good track to write to. And I shall leave it at that because I think there's something interesting on Food Network right now. ;)
