It's been a little while since I last posted. On Saturday I went with two friends of mine to a medieval faire!!!! YEAH!!! It was awesome! It wasn't really big, but there was some cool/fun stuff there for sure. ;) They even had costume rentals so you could dress appropriate for the time period while you were there. Unfortunately, they were a little more than what I had (and I wanted to get some other stuff), and all the good ones for ladies were already taken anyway. lol There was also archery, which I had to do. It was $2 for 3 arrows, so that's what each of us did. I went first and it was kind of snazzy because I didn't need to have the guy show me how to shoot. However, this kid's all like "she's really good" and then I became far more aware of people watching me and started shaking. *sigh* Oh, to not be worried... What whistful thinking. ;) Anyway, I did pretty good considering I haven't shot in a long time, and the bow they had me use was not like my nice recurve. lol I could go further and say that the arrows were probably not truly straight, but that's to be expected and I'm really not that good anyhow. I hit the target all three times with good strong shots though, so I'd say it's good. My friends didn't do too bad either, especially since they'd never really shot before.

My super cool thing that I got while there was my hair braid. There was this lady there doing fancy, fancy braiding. It was a really good price too! When I first went and asked her about it, she said that she was booked for the whole day. :( However, when we were walking by before the jousting tournament, she said that the person who was supposed to show up then hadn't, so she could braid my hair real quick after all! :D So, I picked out the color ribbons that I wanted, and she braided it. :) Very fun! I felt better then since at least my hair was more the style of the time period even though my clothes weren't even close. We had lots of fun though, and the tournament was cool, even if the actors kept forgetting their lines. Hehe. Hey, I said it was a smaller one.

On Sunday after work, I did more stuff for my script, and then saw Sam online! Yay! Then, I decided that we might not get another chance to have a phone conversation before she goes off to Europe for school, so I called her and we chatted for a good while. She was very encouraging to me about my job situation and telling me to apply at one of the places I was thinking about, and so I am going to get an application there tomorrow if all goes well. :) We also talked about other stuff and both got really excited over TCG stuff. lol I can't speak too much more about that yet, but I will say that I pixeled stuff in relation to our conversation this evening before I started typing this. :D

Now, a little more on my job situation. I told my boss today--since she happened to come in--that my last available day is September 15. Do I have another job to go to after that? Nope. But, I said it and it's done and I'm glad. I've been praying to God the last few nights for a sign of what to do, and I shall try to be dilligent and continue to pray about it. So, it's in God's hands now, where it should be. Hopefully I won't be silly and try to take back control (which I don't really have anyway), but that can some times happen since I am only human. It's like, I know I should give everything over to God, but for some reason I try to hold on to things a lot of times. *shakes head* Silly me. I trust Him though, and He's always provided for me and promises to continue to do so always, so I'm good. :)

I should go now, but I want to say that I'm totally jazzed because I downloaded a couple songs from the soundtrack to A Goofy Movie, and I keep listening to them on repeat! Oh yeah! They're awesome! Some may think I'm crazy, but the people who's opinions are important to me don't. :) *hugs to them*

Ahh... I needed this. While I heart the Pirates soundtracks and remixes, they weren't helping my headache, and it was time for something different. So, to help lift my spirits and make me smile: Backstreet Boys slow songs. :) I feel better already.

I attempted to work on the TCG script some today, but it didn't go very far. I've been in sort of a funk the last few hours and haven't known what to do with myself, etc. I think I'll try to work some on the TCG script when I'm finished with this though. Probably add some games stuff, and possibly work on the store feature. My mind is also turning trying to figure out some more complicated game-type scripts, but I'm not sure how to do them, or if I can. We'll see.

We heard today that my Grandma is being moved to a new facility. The one she's been at said they prided themselves on "difficult" patients, but apparently my Grandma is being too difficult. I guess she's been telling the visiting family members of other patients that they're being mistreated and stuff when they're not. So, she'll be moving to a new place in a few days that has three levels of care, and they have like isolation, which sounds scary. I just keep praying that no one's hurting my Grandma and they're taking good care of her, etc. It seems less and less likely that she'll ever be able to go home and live on her own again.

On a happier note, I'm getting pretty good at pixeling little objects. I wonder if there's a job doing that? lol Probably so, but I bet I'm not qualified. *sigh* Looking for a job stinks.

][ 9:37 PM

GOOOOOOD morning all! Yes, so I haven't gone to sleep yet, but it's technically in the AM now, ya know? lol So, what have I been doing for like the last hour or so instead of working on my TCG Admin script like a good girl? Oh, making a biznitchingly cool card template for a TOTALLY different TCG than the one I've been working on. lol Oh yeah. I have two other card templates that I made a while back for other types of TCGs which I just made for the heck of it. lol This one I think is so rad though, that I may very well just have to open a second TCG. You know, if I ever even get around to opening the first. ;) *shakes head at self* The card template does look awesome though, and it's for something I really like... Narnia! I couldn't help it. I'm collecting the Edmund Pevensie deck at Premier, and Breanne closed her Narnia TCG before I could even join it, so I feel like there's a VOID people! lmao Anyone interested in helping me run a Narnia based TCG? My script is really rad and will do most of the work for us by the time I'm finished with it. lol Breanne?--or are you truly tired of TCGs? Yeah, I'm totally excited about the card template though. Hey, if anyone out there wants to open a TCG and would like a really pretty card template, drop me a line and I just might make one for you. Oooh--just had a good idea for a Star Wars one! Okay, wait, it's actually not that cool. Nevermind. Thought about it: nah.

Perhaps I'll go to sleep soon. That would be smart. I was up until 4 yesterday morning... night... uhh... you know what I mean! It was an accident, too. I was working on the TCG Admin script, and I added a feature to post updates with. However, the code that "should" have worked in displaying the entries in descending order by date was NOT! Grr. It should have too! So yes, when I finally looked at the clock, it said 3:30-something, and I decided I should probably get ready for bed. I ended up just making it order by ID, but it's rather likely I won't be happy with that and will try to mess with it later. *sigh* Why wouldn't it do what I wanted? *confused* But, back to sleep--

I got a new matress on Tuesday. It's a memory foam one, and it was a very good price. Tonight will be the test to see if it makes any difference from my old spring matress. I kind of hope it will, but I'm not holding out for anything. I'll have to like keep track for a couple weeks of how fast I fall asleep, how rested I feel, if my body hurts less. If it gets rid of the headache that I have right now when I lie down, then it's awesome. Otherwise... lol

*yawns* Okay, maybe I will start to move myself towards going to sleep. There's no reason for me to say that I will right away because I know that's not going to happen. Apparently I just don't work that way. I'll have to piddle around a bit more on the computer, then eventually turn it off. So, off I go. Nighty night.

Today I vegged around and watched TV and bought stuff off the internet. lol Oh yeah. I watched A Boyfriend for Christmas (heart that movie SO much) and the Don Friesen DVD with my Mommy. Also watched some regular TV when eating lunch. lol Then I went on my computer and checked e-mail, then bought stuff off of eBay and bid on more stuff to buy, then bought a new domain name, then bought stuff off of Amazon. Wee! So now you're thinking I didn't do anything of use today. Not true!

Aside from my non-useful things, I did accomplish a few good things. I finally submitted a resume to someone! Okay, it's actually the second company I've sent a resume to, but the first I've applied for a specific job. Actually, I feel really excited about this one now, and I hope they end up asking to interview me. It could be really awesome. :) The other thing?

Writing PHP/mySQL scripts is FUN!!!! lol I don't know why, but it makes me so insanely giddy when the code that I wrote WORKS! Haha! So, as you may have guessed, the script is the TCG Admin one I've been working on for ages. I actually had the first version completed, but it was just the members list, and I decided that that wasn't enough. So now it is the members list and also keeps track of card decks. Oh, but it is more than that, too! *giggles* I totally added this rad stuff! What, you ask? Let's see... referral links, one-click sending of referal award cards, and two-click sending of auto-generated starter's packs! :D *squee* The last was what I was working on tonight. Had some code glitches, but surprisingly less than with other parts of the script. *wonders what that's all about* And then, success! I'm so jazzed. And I really hope that some other TCG owners will want to use the script and will like it/find it helpful. I'm hoping Sam will be my first beta-testing with her new TCG. *hint, hint Sam* I've got to make some adjustments to make it not specific to the TCG I wrote it for before anyone else can use it though. At least there's not many, as I wrote it with other users in mind. And, there's a few more things I'd like to add before I make it available to others as well. Still, so excited about it though. And you know what? The sad thing is that I'm probably having more fun writing the management script than I will running the TCG when it's finally open. lmao

Well, that's all for now, and I'm off in a moment. But first, no one's asked me anything in a long time... anyone want to? Just click the link in the side section if you do. :) G'night!

P.S. Everyone go visit Sam's new domain and leave her a happy comment on her blog! Yes, she has a blog again: YAY!

Well, now that it's a good deal past midnight, I've decided to stop working on my TCG admin script--for the night, of course. It's coming along fairly well. Originally, it was just going to be the member's list; now it also holds information on the card decks and allows you to add new decks into the database in a quite handy and speedy way, I think. I mean, you've still got to upload all the files on your own (which is most likely faster than a web upload anyway), but you only have to enter the basic info about each deck, and then it does all the displaying and everything for you via lovely PHP. :D Happy, happy. For now, it'll just have member and card stuff, but hopefully it will eventually have stuff for managing games, a store, and perhaps some other things.

I've been working on the thing for most of the day. I got hung up on this one part for a good half an hour to an hour at least. What should have worked wasn't and I couldn't figure it out. Finally, God zapped me a bit of His infinite wisdom (yes, God knows PHP/mySQL people!) and I changed one tiny thing and it worked! :D *dances* I was so excited and threw my hands up in the air and thanked God. :D It was a good feeling. It's like, when you're trying to figure out why your code isn't working you start to get frustrated, but then when you figure it out, it's exhilaration from beating the challenge! Woo! There were a few smaller versions of that with other things, but that main big one was awesome. lol Can you tell I'm excited about this whole thing now? There's a few things that I learned how to do while going which I think are pretty cool, so they're definately adding to my heightened state of happiness.

Tuesday I went and watched Pirates 2 at the theater with the college group from church. In the middle of the movie, this guy and kid sort of started making a scene and the guy was like shoving the kid up to the lobby. I was like, "uhh..." lol I considered going to check it out, but I thought I'd just let the guys take care of it. A little while later, I went to the bathroom, and on my way out Charlie told me what happened: The guy shoved the kid out into the lobby and was yelling and stuff about how he'd told the kid to be quite a bunch of times and stuff. Charlie interrupted and said that if he would have just come and told us, we would have delt with it. The guy didn't want to seem to hear that and kept going and said that the kid threw popcorn at his wife! Jerk kid, for sure, but that still doesn't give the guy the right to assault the kid! It's not his place to do that. So, Charlie asked the kid if he did that, and the kid admitted and was snotty, so Charlie kicked him out. Apparently, the guy kept saying that the staff was no help at all like we should have known with our extra senses what was happening in the theater. As Charlie put it, the guy expected us to cry out "my theater sense is tingling" the moment anything happened. lmao So, the guy went and got his wife and then demanded a refund. Brian didn't know what else to do since the guy was so ticked, so he just gave them their money back. It was probably the smart thing to do. If any of us had been thinking, we should have told him he needed to calm down or we'd call the authorities or something. But yeah, yipes!

Then, on Wednesday I was closing with Charlie and this couple comes out when there was about 40 minutes left in the 2 and a half hour movie. The guy just runs out all steamed, and the lady looks and me and asks if there's any way they could get their money back. I asked why, and she said there was a guy who was messing around on his cell phone the whole movie and then it rang and he picked it up and was talking on it in the theater while the movie was going. I told her that she should have come out and told us before, and that I would go in and kick out the person right then and her and her husband could go back in and watch the movie. She said her husband had already left and was really mad so they didn't want to stay. I looked at the clock and then back and her and told her that I couldn't really give her their money back since the movie was almost over. I offered to write them a certificate for free popcorn and soda for next time, but she said forget it and left. *shrugs* Whatever. Charlie went in and didn't see or hear anyone with a cellphone, then I did the same and didn't either. It makes me wonder if these two couples planned the whole thing for both nights? lol What the heck? Hopefully there will be no more of those for a while. I tell you though, I wonder if other theaters have these problems or if it's just us? And, for all of you, when you go see a movie and someone is being disruptive, politely ask them to stop. If that doesn't work, go politely inform a theater employee of the problem, and they will take care of it for you. Please! lol

All right, I'm off to put away the zuccini I steamed earlier, and steam some green beans. Yeah, I'm going to start the green beans now... after midnight.

Okay, strike my post script two entries down. I thought I was going to launch the site Friday, then I decided I needed a little more time and I should launch it tomorrow, now I'm not even going to be doing that! lol Why? Because I think I'm going to change how some things are setup to make running it even easier for me. My brain is currently stewing over how to setup the PHP/mySQL script so that it functions the best for its purpose. I'm coming up with some good thoughts, but I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish each of the things or what version of code to use for certain things (there are different bits of code that could bring about the same result). Humm...

In other news, my parents and I went to one of the local city festivals today. It was nice. We were just there for a bit as there weren't as many things planned today. But yeah... I also talked to my Grandma today. She's still at the hospital, but will probably be moved to a permanent location at an assisted living place that specializes in "difficult" patients. On the phone she told me that that's her new job and that they came to her and interviewd her for a job to help the patients that live there. *sigh* Just went... oh... okay. lol I guess she's taking some medication right now, and she sounds a little less hyper, but it's not a cure, you know? Anyway, she's safe and getting some help, so that's good and we're all pretty happy. Oh yeah, the judge denied her appeal that I posted about a bit back, in case you didn't get that from the part where I said she's still at the hospital. Thanks to those of you that prayed specifically about that. :)

I am wounded. I was--unfortunately--stupid, and I pulled the lid off the veggie steamer while it was going and really hot steam burnt my poor little index finger. It's sad. It feels MUCH better now at least. Boy, did it burn though. It made me think about the time when I was little and I burnt my pinky finger on the humidifier in my room while I was sick. It hurt. lol Anyway, currently my finger is not in too much pain--seeing as how I'm typing with it--and it has a lovely Care Bears bandaid on it, so it's cute. Hehe.

I was watching this show on Atlantis (the lost city, not in relation to Stargate) earlier when I got home from building the movie. Some of it was kind of interesting and had some things I didn't know, but I eventually turned it off before it was over because the rest of it was just psycho-weird, as tends to often be the case with shows on this subject--at least, the ones that I've seen. Then I watched more of the shark week shows on Discovery. Good stuff.

In case you've not noticed my recent employment of the dash in my writing, I'm currently experimenting with new and exciting bits of punctuation. Yeah, I may misuse them in some cases, but it's a learning process and I never claimed that my blog would be devoid of any mistakes in the grand game of writing. ;) I'm working on it though, and am currently reading a book with some suggestions on the creative employment of punctuation. Some might not find that very interesting, but for some derranged reason... I do. Let's say it is because I have a writing soul, even if I'm not really doing any writing now. Yes, the blog is writing, but not the type of writing I have perhaps been hoping to do. *sigh* I suppose that I am reading books on writing (and learning to write better, at that), one could say that I'm at least doing something and there is yet hope for me. I hope. lol

I've also been making a few voice recordings of ideas and notes on my new digital voice recorder, but learning to dictate one's thoughts alloud to oneself and a recorder is not easy. Indeed, it feels rather weird. The more I use it, the more I should get used to it in theory. Currently I feel like I have to start over when I pause or say the wrong word. Silly me.

My only other item to report is that I'm still looking for another job. I'm not looking that hard, but I check some websites with job postings fairly regularly. I still don't know what I'd like to do that I am also actually qualified to do. Well, I'd like to write stories, but I still have not worked up the courage and confidence needed in order to do so. And, most writers still have to have "day jobs" anyway. Now to find one. My boss at the theater basically made fun of me today for not having found one yet. I feel like no one thinks I'm trying, or they think I don't really want to, when neither is the case. I would very much like to do something different, and I believe that I am trying as much as I can without having any vaguely clear idea of what sort of job I'm looking for. I sort of wish God would just tell me what to do, but at the same time, if I heard His voice I'd probably have the crap scared out of me. I think I am for sure hung up on what I want rather than what God wants right now though, and that is not good, nor how it should be. I am far too selfish.

][ 10:55 PM

I'm watching Shark Week on Discovery Channel right now. If you did not already know, I really like sharks. I think they're rad, cool, awesome; whichever adjective you prefer to use. ;) I have great respect for them, and so it is likely that I won't be in the ocean much more in my lifetime. Scary. One of the shows on the other day had a quote from a scientist which went something like: the ocean is not a swimming pool, it is an environment. Anyway, there was just this awesomely funny factoid in the current show which I must share with you all now...

Vending machines are 4 times more deadly than sharks.

LMAO I love it! Dude, Macos can go up to 40 MPH in the water! They just said it. Crazy. Ain't no way any of us are out-swimming one of those. Oh yes, and don't go into rivers that lead to the ocean... Bull sharks can--and do--swim in fresh water as well as salt. Humm... Tiger sharks can saw through a sea turtle's shell. Nothing beats my favorite shark though... Megalodon! YEAH!!!! My final thought... sharks are so fascinating. I highly recommend shark week to you all!

P.S. I'm probably launching a long-worked on new website this weekend, so look for it. ;)

New layout featuring the oh-so-lovely Michael Shanks (aka Dr. Daniel Jackson)!!!! I was going to do a Daniel layout, but then I found these pictures from Michael in a performance of Hamlet, and they just begged to be used! lol I do love me a man with a sword. ;)

I put this layout together on Sunday, mostly while I was at work. I just really felt in the mood to make the layout and I knew I was going to have four hours to kill, so I took my laptop with me and worked away. Oh, and thanks to Charlie, Josh, and Landon for their opinions on part of the layout. I was going to add something extra, but wasn't sure, so I asked them and they all said it was good the way it was. So thanks guys. ;) lol

You know what, I don't really have anything else to post about. lol Yesterday was pretty much like Sunday, which was mainly work, with a little play while waiting for the movie to get over. And today is blissful relaxation. Ah. I also blew out what little dust was in my CPU after hearing Charlie's story yesterday about how some dust in his computer caught fire. Umm... scary. I backed up my stories, too... just in case. Hopefully that won't happen, and my hard drive won't die or anything. At least it was nice to find that there wasn't much dust in my CPU. :) So now, farewell, and enjoy the prettiness that is Mr. Shanks. lol
