This past Friday my mom and I went out for the day. We went to Wal-Mart and I got a few new t-shirts and The Adventures of Milo and Otis on DVD! :D Yay! Haven't watched it yet, but I imagine I will soon. That was one of my favorite movies when I was little. :) After the shopping we went and saw Becoming Jane. I'd call it a rental, but it was alright. I don't like stories without happy endings though. *pouts*

I spent most of the weekend continuing to read the advance copy book that Emily lent me. Finished it just before nine Sunday night, and then I didn't know what to do with myself. lol I wanted to keep reading more and find out what happens, but alas, that all has not been written/published yet. I'm hoping the fourth book will be out in a couple years, if I'm lucky. lol But, the stories are so good, they're worth the wait. :) So yeah, it was really good! lol

Sunday was also great because I talked to my cousin Steven, whom I hadn't had a chance to speak with for like two years or something. That was very nice and he's doing good right now. Then, he said he's going to try and make it down to So. Cal. next time I'm there so we can visit, and he's going to call his brother Keith to see if he wants to go too, so I might get to see both of them! :D Happy! Not sure if it'll all work out, but I really hope that it does.

Also on Sunday, my parents had an older couple from church over for BBQ lunch. I hung out and chatted with them after I got off the phone with Steven, and that was quite nice as well. A lot of times I find it easier to converse with adults than with people closer to my own age. Not entirely sure why, but I do.

Yesterday, Emily and I went and saw The Bourne Ultimatum, which I enjoyed a lot more than the second in the series. I think I may go watch this one again. It was interesting to get more information about Bourne's ever-elusive past, and of course it's fun to watch him foil all those people trying to get him. ;) Part of me wishes I could jump from the top of a building down through a window in another building and have mad fighting skills, but a larger part of me is quite glad I haven't the need for such things. Haha.

Yay, I'm so happy! My mom and I have been watching America's Got Talent the last few weeks and hoping the ventriloquist guy would win, and he did!!! :D He's so freakin' good! It's crazy! lol And you could tell he was so completely overwhelmed that he won; it was great. My mom and I even called a voted last week, which is big because normally we don't vote when we're watching any of these kinds of shows. So a big yay for him because that's really cool. :)

I also had a BIG yay moment for me earlier today. Emily called and asks about one of the books that's coming out later this year that I'm really excited about and what it was called and everything. So, I told her. She goes, "how would you like to read it sooner?" "What do you mean?" I ask. "Well, I've got an advanced reading copy of it in my hands right now." After going, "are you serious," there followed much squeeing upon my part. *jumps up and down* I'm so beyond excited for that!!! I'm going to start reading it in a little while. I managed to hold out so long because Emily and I watched a movie when she brought it over, and then I decided I wanted to read the last few chapters of the previous book before I started this one to refresh my memory a little more. Gah! So excited! She was just saying last night when we went to watch Hairspray that she was glad she had a friend with connections at a movie theatre (I get her free concessions), and now I get to say that I'm glad I have a friend with connections at a bookstore. lol Technically the advanced reading copies are supposed to just be for the employees, but Emily is so nice she snagged it for me to read first. lol I don't get to keep it or anything, but that's okay because it's not the edited, final version anyway. So yeah, hope it's okay that I just blabbed this all onto my blog. lol I didn't say the title or anything. *tries to look inconspicuous* And, I won't be able to write anything about it until it's actually released. I think I can do that. ;)

I think that's pretty much what's been going on. I've been watching some older movies that I hadn't seen in a while over the past few nights. I watched Babes in Toyland and Little Giants. Now I think I'll need to see if my tape of The Muppet Movie still works and watch that since there were muppets on the show tonight. lol

I've also been trying to get through on the Backstreet Boys' cell phone numbers. They're doing it as a P.R. thing and gave out two cell numbers at a few interviews for fans to call and chat with them for a few minutes. I'm sort of surprised I keep trying, as I'm not even close to as big of a fan as I used to be, but I think I just can't help it. lol There's still something in me wired to try it. But, I haven't been trying a lot, just every once in a while I call and see if I manage to get through. Not sure what I'd say if I actually did. Speaking of BSB, they FINALLY put something up on their official site. It's info for a contest that sounds really cool, until you finish reading the blurb about it. lol It's for a pair of "ultimate" concert tickets that would get you and someone else into as many of their concerts in the year 2008 as you wanted, BUT there's no transportation or accomidation provided and the only way you can win is if you join their fan club. *rolls eyes* A) I'm not re-joining their fan club because they didn't do ANYTHING with it this last year and that's certainly not worth thirty bucks. And B) Even if I did manage to get selected as the winner, I'd only be able to go to two or three shows that weren't that far from where I live because that's all the traveling I could afford to pay for! lol Not worth it at all. I suppose I will enter the free one though were you could win a pair of tickets to one show... just for the hey of it.

Anyway, I shall go now. Must start the reading and find out what happens next in the story! :D

Well, I sort of expected this, but I was still hoping to be proved wrong. HSM 2 was a bit dissapointing. I did like a couple songs though, so I can't call it a total loss or anything. The Hanna Montana episode after it was a lot better at least. lol There was something said in a little blip before the movie started about taking America back to its favorite high school or whatever. That elicited a "haha, right" out of me. That is the "fantasy" portrayal of high school. The real thing sucks big time. Thank God it's done for me! That was a happy thought. lol Maybe high school's better for other people though. Who knows.

*beams* Look at my cute new pixel layout!!! I did it all myself, minus the tutorial for the flowers and a grass technique for the tops of the hills (both of which are on my credits page). I made the castle all by myself from scratch though! :D And the cute pine trees, too. Super love to the select and path tooks in Photoshop though, because they make things a lot easier. I'm not going to draw EVERYTHING one pixel at a time! Whew, took long enough as it was. ;) And then, when I was almost finished with my little pixel-scape I had the brilliant idea to do a night version and then decided to use PHP so that when you visit my site during the day, you get the day layout and vice versa for night. :D Of course, it's based on the time of my server so depending where you are in the world, it might not be so accurate. lol

Then, I decided to go crazy with the titles for the sections on my right-hand column area and have them have those cute little pixel bars. But, of course, I didn't want to re-code all of the files so I had to attempt to make the span tag cooperate with CSS. Therefore, it looks correct on my browser now, but I'm not sure how it will look on other browsers, and my code won't validate for this layout, I'm sure. lol But I don't care! I'm done messing with it--at leat for now, anyway. If it looks super messed up on someone else's browser, I might attempt to fix it the hard way. Might. lol Oh, and I haven't come up with a name for my castle yet, so if anyone has a suggestion, feel free to leave a tag. :)

In other news, I went and saw Stardust again on Sunday evening. Emily went with me, but before we went to do that, I got a new archery target and her and I shot arrows for a little while. I need some more practice. lol But it was fun.

Wednesday my mom and I went out and did some shopping. Got myself some new pens and a pack of spiral notebooks. :) They were all on sale since it's the "back-to-school" time. I like these sales. lol Two for one on a pack of pens, 10 cents each for six spiral notebooks in a pack. Good deal! I also got some cute half-sized index cards. I didn't know they made them, but they're so cute!

Well, now that I'm finally finished working on this layout and getting it up, I'll have to find some other things to keep me busy until eight o'clock when High School Musical 2 premieres. Yes, I'm watching it... and taping it, too. lol The first one was pretty good, and I like seeing movies as soon as they come out anyway. :)

I went and watched Stardust this morning. I really liked it. :) I'll have to borrow the book from the library one of these days, once I finish reading the book I just got a few weeks ago and haven't started yet, anyway. It's making me a very happy camper that they're releasing more fantasy films. *happy dance* I want to go watch this one again soon. Maybe this time I'll find someone to go with me.

Yesterday I went down to the post office to mail a rather large box that weighed very little. It was filled with a whole bunch of my old Littlest Pet Shop toys that someone agreed to buy from me. I weighed the package and took its measurements and did the calculation on the USPS website and it told me Parcel Post would be $14. Either their calculation thing is flibbin' broken or the lady at the post office is stupid. I had to pay $24! Parcel Post and Priority were only 40 cents different, so I ended up paying the extra 40 cents to send it Priority. I think the lady had no idea what she was doing. Next time I'm printing the stuff out from the website and taking it down to the post office with me!

The other news is that my Aunt and Uncle are here for the weekend. Also, I got a reply back from a place I applied to for a job, so it's likely I'll have an interview sometime this coming week for that. I'll write more about it if they offer it to me and I accept.

I just put up the info from the BSB concert I went to in 1998. Well, what I can remember of it, anyway. lol I was going to also write up the stuff for the '99 one, but I think I've got a typed version of events from it somewhere, so I'll wait a while. Otherwise I'll just write what I can remember. Then, at least, my concert section of this site will be complete for the first time ever! lmao

While I was writing up the stuff about the concert, I flipped through my old journal to see what I had written about it. Apparently, not much. I just wrote how it was awesome and how much I like it, and pretty much nothing more concrete. Well, I was only in middle school then, I hadn't gotten so much into chronicling things as I sort of have now. I flipped through some other stuff, some of which was pretty funny, and a lot of which would be incredibly embarassing if anyone else ever read it. So, no one ever will--unless it gets published after I'm dead for some crazy reason, at which point it won't matter to me anyway. Haha.

Oh, and I've been writing still, and hope to do some more later tonight, so happy, happy! :D

][ 10:36 PM

New layout! I had planned to do something with less dark colors, but I was watching Star Wars III the other day and decided to do an Anakin-becomes-Vader layout. :) It's not as spiffy as it was in my head, but I really like the picture directly above this text. I also like my little pixel space background. :D Oh, and the "Enter Lord Vader" text is because that's the title of a track on the soundtrack for that movie, which I just got about a week ago. It fits nicely.

It's been a while since I've done this, but I'm going to write about the Backstreet Boys. *shock* lol The first single appeared online last night, so I downloaded it. At first I wasn't sure. I mean, it sounds good, but was it that good? Now that I've listened to it on repeat for a while, I've decided that I like it. I definitely like it more than the other two songs that were leaked a while ago, anyway. I think this means that their new album really might come out at the end of October like they say, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it in the Sunday circulars the week of, I think. ;) Haha.

Sunday after church there was a baptism service down at the river, and even though my parents couldn't go, I went... by myself. Even more shocking. lol It was nice. Talked to a few different people and even saw a few friends I hadn't seen in quite a while, so that was nice. :) I also had a chocolate chip cookie stolen from me, but I went and got another one and managed to keep it safe until I finished eating it. Take that! lol

Not much else going on. I did write some last night and the night before though, so I'm super happy about that. :D I shall try to keep going regularly and make tiny steps toward writing a complete story. Wow. That sounds a little scary, so I must not think of it like that just yet. One bit at a time, one bit at a time.

I had another theatre nightmare last night. As far as nightmares go, they're on the mild side compared to others, but I've had at least five or six related to the theatre I worked at. I'm not sure why, either. lol They've included one where the movie was over and no one would leave, even after I started cussing them out, one where we had dinner items for sale and people wanted them and they were taking a while and there were SO many customers and we were understaffed; one where the projector was different than it really is and I couldn't remember how to thread it; one where the movie was supposed to start right at that moment, but it hadn't even been built yet; and a few others I can't remember the details about, but vaguely recall. Last night's was coupled with my parents and I moving into a new house, and the platters that the movies rest on ended up in my room in the morning and I was freaking out about how the movie wasn't going to be built in time, then that there was no space for it because they hadn't broken down any of the other movies, then there was space for it after all, but that wouldn't help because after I finished building the movie, how was I going to get the platters to the theatre? Don't ask me why I dream these things, but I do. lol

In other news, I now have the soundtracks for Star Wars Episodes I thorugh III, as the third came today and I'm listening to it now. I plan to get the other three movie soundtracks as well, but the box set is rather pricey, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled on the internet for a decently priced one. Until then, at least I've got some. :)
