This morning I got up, got ready, and mom and I left for brunch. We went to the place that has really good french toast, so I got that, of course. That's the only thing I've ever gotten there. lol Keep thinking maybe one time I'll try something different, but the french toast is really good. Anyway, after that, we went to Target where I speed-walked to the music section to grab the Boys' new CD. I get to the new releases section and there is the regular version. Okay, that's good, I told Emily I'd pick up a regular one for her... now where are the deluxe ones for me? They're not there. So, I go looking around and I'm not seeing it... I go to the "B" section and I see regular ones, but where is my deluxe version?! I want those two bonus tracks people! I was about to have a cow, but then I saw a few of them hiding behind some of the regular ones. Whew. I grabbed one and clutched it to my chest. lmao Had to stand like that for a minute before I was okay. What? I can't help it that I'm excited for good music!

At the check-out, the girl who was ringing me up mentioned how she'd seen one of the CDs earlier and didn't even know the Backstreet Boys were still around. I said something along the lines of that they've been kind of quiet unless you know where to look. ;) lol We had a short chat and breifly lamented the loss of Kevin in the group before I was finished paying and another person got in line behind me. It was a much nicer experience that past BSB CD release day purchases where I actually had cashiers look at me and go "you're actually buying this?" YES! *rolls eyes at the people who don't understand* It's good music.

After the mission was accomplished, mom and I went to Michael's for a bit and I got some new embroidery floss for making friendship bracelets since they were on sale. We also got some Christmas craft things to send as presents to people. Then, we got a cookie from a store and went to see Dan in Real Life. It wasn't quite like what I thought it would be from the previews, but it was pretty good. I actually think Steve Carell is a good actor. I know, I've surprised myself, too. But yeah, funny parts, teared a little for a moment, that kind of thing. I think it's not totally my style of movie because it's a little more in the "drama" genre than I prefer, but I felt my admission money was well spent.

Ran a few more errands, and then came home where I proceeded to blast the CD and dance around the living room. lol While I was doing that, the phone rang and it was Ran calling me back from the other day. She goes, "I bet I know why you called..." Yes, I did plan to mention to her about the album since I didn't think she knew, but that wasn't the main reason. I thought I'd call and chat since it'd been a while. lol

The other "big" thing from today was that Sabrina Bryan got voted off of Dancing with the Stars. I was shocked, and rather bummed. I thought she was really good and I was pulling for her since she's closer to my age than any of the other contestents, and she's from Disney Channel. ;) She looked totally crushed and the others looked really shocked. Humm... was it rigged? lol

Hasn't been too much else going on this past week. Put in some applications for a seasonal position at some places and I got one call back for an interview, so we'll see how that goes. I've also been working on some projects on my computer, which has left me feeling like I've been accomplishing some things at least. lol Got a layout for a new site done and mostly coded, worked on upgrading the code I use at TWO17.net, which had surprisingly few problems. How nice of it. lol Also worked on some other stuff which I shall choose not to reveal just yet. Oooh. Haha.

Now, back to the Boys. ;) So, they were on the Today show this morning, but when I got up they weren't mentioned, so I figured they'd already been on. No biggie. Nice people always put these things online for download nowadays, so that's how I saw it a few hours ago. Nothing special. Asked them a couple basic questions: where's Kevin, did you pick music for a specific fan base or are you trying to attract new fans? Then they performed "Inconsolable," and that was it. *sigh* When they sang it live was when I really noticed Kevin's vocals missing. The harmonies just aren't the same without him. It's not as noticable on the album, in my opinion. Totally understand Kevin's decision though. It's good to try new things and they've all been doing this for a LONG time. As for the album, I really like it a lot and if I had to pick a favorite song, it'd be a toss up between "Everything But Mine" and "Unmistakable." The former being a good upbeat song with lyrics I like, the latter being a beautiful ballad with lyrics that make my heart ache.

Friday afternoon my mom and I packed up the car and headed off for a weekend getaway! :) Before heading to our destination, we stopped in Tacoma at the Museum of Glass. Let me tell you, that was sorely dissapointing and not at all worth $10. They didn't really have much and what they call "art," I do not. I'm sorry, but a whole bunch of different sized clear glass stepping stones placed around the floor is not art. Pretty much anyone can do that. *shrugs* But, you know, whatever. The only cool thing there was watching some people make something out of glass; that was interesting. It was going to take a long time to finish though, so we only watched part of it, and then we decided to leave. We were there less than an hour because there's not much there to look at or do.

We continued on our way, heading up the Olympic Peninsula. We stopped for dinner at the Olive Garden, then did a little shopping at a mall. I got a couple new pairs of pants, and was a happy camper. lol Then, back to the driving. Our destination was Port Townsend, which is at the top right corner of the Olympic Peninsula. We were trying to figure out where to go and I found out they have a lot of old victorian-style houses up there, and a castle, too, so that's where we decided to go. The castle was actually dissapointing because it wasn't like a traditional European castle or anything, but it was alright. We walked through it, but because it's a hotel, there wasn't much to see since all the rooms were closed. The hallways weren't that fabulous. lol

We arrived after dark and went to the hotel to settle in some. I had a hankering for ice cream, so we went and dropped by the McDonald's for some, then drove around a bit to see what we could in the dark. We saw a lot more the next day.

So, Saturday morning we got up and went to the little farmer's market. I got a couple little things along with a really good chocolate crossant (sp?). It was quite tasty, and it was a good thing mom helped me eat it. lol From there, we headed to Fort Worden, which is a state park there. We toured the Commanding Officer's Quarters, which was kinda cool, and then headed to the Point Wilson Lighthouse. I took a number of pictures there, which are up at TWO17 (please comment!). We even saw some seals playing out in the water, but my lens doesn't zoom far enough for those pictures to have turned out well. It was cool to see them though.

We went back to the downtown area of Port Townsend after that and found a pizza place to have lunch at. They offered garlic as a topping option, so mom and I both got that along with our regular toppings. :) It was pretty good. Once digested some, we left and went through a lot of the gift shops they have there. I found a few cute things, once again. :)

We drove around looking at some of the nice houses for a bit, and then returned to the hotel for the rest of the evening. We watched Over the Hedge on TV while eating our leftovers for dinner and just had a nice time relaxing. It was a nice trip. :)

Yesterday I continued in the effort to get my desk clean and some things organized. It's pretty darn clean looking now. Desk needs a good windexing, and there are still some papers floating around on it, but it's pretty much as good as it's going to get for now. I can actually use it for writing on now, which was the main goal, so all is good! I also worked some on a craft project I started a while ago, painting a wooden box. I shall hopefully be all finished with it by this evening. It's nothing complicated, it just takes a while to do because of the nature of it. *sigh* Fun stuff. lol Anyway, time for lunch now. Please check out my pictures at TWO17 and leave comments letting me know what you think. :)

Today's been a pretty good day. Got Transformers and The Jungle Book. :) Only watched the former so far. Mom watched it with me and said she liked it okay and there were some good funny parts, so that was cool! lol She prefers romantic comedy movies and other things, not so much SF/F or action/adventure, but some of them she'll watch with me and likes okay. :) Dad doesn't like many movies and isn't big on watching them. lol It still amazes me though how amazing the effects are in Transformers. I have no clue how they did the actual "transforming" of the AutoBots, etc. Crazy good. Story's great and very funny, too. Truly a great movie.

I also bought a bunch of new pens today! Office Depot had 50% off a number of different Uniball pens so I got the nice eight-pack of Vision Elite ones and some gel ones I haven't tried yet. Then, as we were walking to the checkout lines, I saw that they had a bunch more in another section so stopped to see which ones. And, while looking I noticed a sign that said you got these other brand pens free if you bought two Uniball packs, which I was going to do! Yay free! lol They're just regular ball points and while the outsides are colored differently, I figured they all had black ink. I decided to test them out when we got in the car and they have colored ink! *dances* Even better! So, that was an exciting bonus surprise. lol Not that I really need anymore pens right now, but can you really have too many anyway? ;)

So, Holly's a dork and she called the Backstreet Boys' number (it's a promo thing, and you don't actually get to talk to them, see BSB.com) and left them the following message (yes, I typed it out before I called, lol):

Hey guys. My name is Holly. I have to tell you I wasn't feeling as excited about the new album as I have about the past ones, but then I heard all of "Everything But Mine," and now I'm feeling far more excited for the 30th. That is an awesome song! Love the lyrics about stars and rain and stuff like that. Might I also request that you guys try to do a Christmas album for next year? It'd be nice to hear you guys sing some classics (like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "A Holly Jolly Christmas") along with some originals. Thanks. Bye!

So, Michelle and Kriss from the H.A. forum are awesome because they told me where I could listen to clips from the Boys' new album! From the clips, I decided I really liked "Everything But Mine." That was last night when I listened to those, so today, while I'm more awake, I looked at some of the other links they gave me and DLed the full version of that song from Track-Back.com. Now I'm probably going to be listening to this one song on repeat for half the day. lol I really like it!

Thus far, no more bugs in my bathroom! YAY! lol I'm so very glad and thankful. Keep thanking God and asking that they not start re-appearing again. Hopefully it was a one-time deal and now they shall all stay outside where they're supposed to be. *nods*

Thursday evening mom asked if I wanted to play Yahtzee with her. I was all, "sure" and asked dad if he was going to play with us, too? He said okay, but wasn't as excited as mom or I, but then he got TWO Yahtzees in the one game! And mom and I didn't get any. lol When I totaled up my score, I actually did better than I was thinking I had though. Man, Yahtzee is really good for exercising my brain with the addition stuff. I know it's terribly sad, but they gave me a calculator in 6th or 7th (probably the latter) grade and let me use it for everything. Wish they hadn't, or I'd somehow known to use it as little as possible because it killed my ability to do math in my head. I have to stop and think about it now, and I was always very good at math when I was younger. I'm still okay (with what I can remember), but I have to solve on paper if, for example, I want to divide into a number that has more than two digits. *sigh* Anyway, the game was fun and we finished up just in time for "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?", which I've come to enjoy watching. I'm usually pretty good and get at least half of the answers correct on my own, but boy was I off on Thursday. lol

Yesterday I managed to get myself up fairly early. I'm trying to fix my sleep schedule some. I watched Rudolph the Red-Nosed Raindeer while I FINALLY pasted birthday and Christmas cards from the last few years into my old scrapbook. There were even cards from my H.S. graduation. But, now they are finally all in there, so that's one more thing erased from my board of things to do. Still haven't finished up cleaning my desk, but I imagine I'll get to it within a few days, maybe even some tonight. I thought about it anyway. Depends on if I end up sidetracking myself more or something.

As I was finishing the bulk of my pasting (ended up doing the rest later), my mom asked if I wanted to go out and do some shopping. I said sure and got myself ready. We returned something, then we went to Office Depot and Michael's and got photo paper and picture frames for our new project. :) We're going to print out some of the pictures I've taken of flowers from my mom's garden and she's going to put them up on one of the walls that needs some more pizazz. I feel ultra cool and special because it's almost like a gallery of my work or something. :) I know, I'm silly. lol We finished that and headed to the theatre where we saw The Game Plan. It was okay. Wasn't quite so good as I had hoped, but there were some funny parts and they typical Disney feel good ending.

We got home and I did a little stuff online before the premiere of Twitches Too on Disney Channel. It was... eh, okay. Then there was the premiere of their new series, Wizards of Waverly Place, which was not something I'll be watching again. They're just trying to make money off of the Harry Potter hype. Younger kids will probably like it, but I don't. I basically just watched it because there was nothing else on TV for that half an hour and nothing else for me to do for that time while mom and I awaited the new Atlantis episode. It was a pretty good episode. Not one of my faves, but also not one I'd purposely skip when we go through the whole season when it comes out on DVD. lol

Today I got up early (for me) again. Ate breakfast, then watched some of Hook on TV. I actually ended up laying on the couch under a blanket and dozing off and on through most of the movie. Heh. Felt much more awake after that. ;) Spent a few hours doing paid website work, cleaned some dishes, etc. Exciting. Actually, it's been a good day. Maybe I'll accomplish a little something more before it's over as well. :)

Friday was my mom's birthday. She didn't want a party, so we just took her for dinner, then to do a bit of shopping. It was nice, and she said she had a good day. :) Then, of course, her and I watched Stargate Atlantis that night, and this time the VCR recorded it like it was supposed to, so that was super happy for the both of us! lmao

Yesterday I walked into my bathroom and there was this funky ant-like bug on the floor. I thought to myself "ew" and then squashed it and threw it away. Then a little while later, there was another one. And a while after I'd squashed that one, there were more. I squashed at least seven in an hour or less. What the heck?! Be gone evil buggies! My mom thinks they were coming in through the fan or something. So, I called my dad and asked him to get some bug spray stuff on his way home. I then fumigated the bathroom. That stuff is scary nasty smelling and I just hope it doesn't kill us along with the bugs! Gah! So, after I had the door closed with the spray for a while, I opened it up, had the fan going in there, etc. to get the fumes cleared out. There were three of the bugs dead on the floor when I got up today, and my mom said she found another while I was out, but it was dead, too. They'd better stop coming inside because I don't want to have to spray that nasty crud again! At least while reading the directions for its use, I was reminded to take things out of the bathroom, like my toothbrush. Pretty sure I don't want something that's going to go into my mouth covered in bug-killing fumes. Yeah, NO.

I went and hung out with Emily for a few hours this evening. We got hot chocolate and cider at a coffee place and sat and talked for a while, then went and did a little shopping. I bought a few things: some bookmarks, including Edmund and Peter Narnia ones, and then I also got a cute necklace. Around eight we decided to go get some dinner. Or, I got dinner. Emily got a small appetizer and then desert since she wasn't real hungry for a full meal. One of the girls that works at that place went to middle and high school with me, and Emily knows her too. Apparently Emily was friends with her. Anyway, before we left she came and talked with us a bit and remarked how she'd never heard me talk so much because I was really quiet in high school. I told her I didn't like high school. She asked if I didn't like the people or the school and I said it was a combination of the two, then added that people weren't very nice to me in high school. She seemed surprised and said "really?" What I didn't tell her, but was thinking in my head, was that she was one of them. I don't think she bothered me in high school because I hardly ever saw her, but she did in middle school. I remember a specific insident where I had written a note to one of my friends during break between classes and she grabbed it off my desk and threatened to read it or something and I had to chase her around the classroom and rip it from her hands to get it back! I was pissed at her. She did something else too, but I can't remember what it was, just that I never liked her after that. I've seen her a few other times since I've been out of school and I've been polite to her, but I'm never going to start a conversation with her or act like I'm really happy to see her or anything. Just can't with those memories. At least she seems nicer now and has hopefully matured a lot since then.

That's pretty much it. Got a good amount more done cleaning my desk. You can see more of its surface now, but there are still many papers. It's a process, but it's going. ;) Probably in a few days I'll manage to do the rest, then it will be seeing if I can keep it clean and organized. lol I'm going to try really hard to do so!
